Ischaemic dermatopathy associated with multiple vaccinations in a miniature poodle
Abstract A 10‐year‐old, spayed, female miniature poodle presented with hyperpigmented alopecia. Two months prior, it had received two polyvalent vaccines 2 weeks apart. Erythematous alopecia at the injection sites was initially observed. These rapidly expanded to the ventral neck and thoracic regions after further rabies vaccination.

H3N2 canine influenza virus-like particle vaccine with great protection in beagle dogs
In 2016, a distinct branch of H3N2 canine influenza virus (CIV) emerged, which has mutations related to mammalian adaptation and has replaced previously prevalent strains. This branch poses a risk of zoonotic infection.

Sequence Characterization of matrix protein (M1) in influenza A viruses (H1, H3 and H5)
This study brings the analysis of amino acid sequences of matrix protein (M1) from the influenza virus A (H1N1, H3N2 and H5N1) during 2007-2208. 741 sequences of M1 were compared, of them, H1N1 388; H3N2 251 and H5N1 102.

Circulation of Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses in Tunisia, 2022–2023 Season
ABSTRACT Introduction Influenza sentinel surveillance has been ongoing in Tunisia since 1999. We describe the epidemiology of respiratory viruses during 2022–2023, the first season to include testing for other respiratory viruses, such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Predicting Antigenic Variants of Influenza A/H3N2 Viruses
Current inactivated influenza vaccines provide protection when vaccine antigens and circulating viruses share a high degree of similarity in hemagglutinin protein. Five antigenic sites in the hemagglutinin protein have been proposed, and 131 amino acid positions have been identified in the five antigenic sites.

ABSTRACT The 2024/2025 influenza season in Italy was characterised by cocirculation of influenza A and B viruses. Monitoring influenza vaccine effectiveness (IVE) remains essential to guide public health policy due to antigenic shifts and varying strain circulation.

Genesis and pathogenesis of the 1918 pandemic H1N1 influenza A virus [PDF]
The source, timing, and geographical origin of the 1918–1920 pandemic influenza A virus have remained tenaciously obscure for nearly a century, as have the reasons for its unusual severity among young adults.

ABSTRACT Introduction Influenza A viruses (IAVs) are responsible for respiratory infections in a wide range of species, including birds, swine and humans. The role of wild boar (Sus scrofa) in IAV epidemiology remains underexplored. Here, we present a longitudinal serologic and virologic surveillance study of wild boars in Spain from 2015 to 2023 ...
