Polarization‐Enabled Piezoelectric Tellurium–Selenium (TexSe1–x) Thin Films for Memory Switching and Artificial Synaptic Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate and investigate polarization‐enabled electromechanical responses in cryogenic physical vapor deposition (cryogenic PVD)‐deposited TexSe1‐x thin films, a tellurium‐based compound with a tunable bandgap and enhanced non‐centrosymmetry.

The structure of hardware-in-the-loop simulation.

open access: yes
In this paper we present the design for a smart-mask to mitigate the impact of an airborne virus such as COVID-19. The design utilises recent results from feedback control theory over a distributed ledger that have been developed to enforce compliance in

Ferroelectric Devices for In‐Memory and In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological systems, in‐memory and in‐sensor computing overcome von Neumann bottlenecks. Ferroelectric devices can mimic synaptic functions and sense stimuli like light or force, therefore are ideal for these paradigms. This review introduces the ferroelectric devices applied for in‐memory and in‐sensor computing, covering their structures ...

Transferable Deep Reinforcement Learning With Edge‐Contour‐Depth Fusion for Autonomous Wireless Capsule Endoscopy Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an anatomical landmark‐guided DRL framework for autonomous wireless capsule endoscopy navigation. Using a lightweight edge‐contour‐depth fusion module, it achieves over 97% coverage across diverse gastric anatomies. To ensure reliability, a two‐stage sim‐to‐real pipeline with an adaptive dynamic programming controller mitigates ...

Sustainable Synaptic Device with Two‐Dimensional Ferroelectric Materials for Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
α‐In2Se3 based FeSFETs can be utilized as sustainable devices through polarization switching governed by both out‐of‐plane and in‐plane polarizations. Upon reaching a fatigued state, current annealing enabled by conductance modulation can significantly enhance the endurance of FeSFETs.

Retina‐Inspired Bi‐Based Terahertz Photonic Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined with effective band alignment and substrate engineering, bismuth materials are introduced to form terahertz photonic bio‐inspired devices with picosecond short‐term plasticity to enable multi‐scene visual perception. Thus obtained hardware through the terahertz optical neural network (THz‐ONN) demonstrates high recognition accuracy, providing ...
