Vulgarinin, a broad-spectrum antifungal peptide from haricot beans (Phaseolus vulgaris)
The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, 2005From the seeds of haricot beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), an antifungal peptide with a molecular mass around 7 kDa was purified by using a simple protocol consisting of affinity chromatography on Affi-gel blue gel and gel filtration on Superdex 75. This peptide named vulgarinin manifested an antifungal activity toward fungal species such as Fusarium ...

Accumulation of selenium and chromium in seeds of haricot bean
2001Accumulation of selenium and chromium in seeds of haricot bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) was studied. A pot soil-culture (Podsoluvisol) experiment was conducted in a greenhouse. Selenium and chromium were applied in different ways: addition to the soil, pre-sowing seed-treatment, and foliar application.

Effect of weed management on weeds and grain yield of haricot bean
2016Weeds are one of the major constraints limiting haricot bean productivity and production. Field experiments were conducted on the effect of weed managements on weeds and grain yield of haricot bean (Phaseolus Vulgaris L.) at Melkassa Agricultural Research Center from 2011 - 2013.

An unusual case of foreign body appendicitis secondary to haricot bean
2014Appendicitis is an endemic disease that may be seen in all age groups. Foreign bodies have occasionally been reported in the etiopathogenesis and this is the first report, to our knowledge, where a haricot bean caused appendicitis. ©2008, Firat University, Medical Faculty.
