Optical Lattice Trap for Kerr Solitons

open access: yes, 2017
We show theoretically and numerically that dichromatic pumping of a nonlinear microresonator by two continuous wave coherent optical pumps creates an optical lattice trap that results in the localization of intra-cavity Kerr solitons with soliton ...

Short‐Wavelength Infrared Imaging with Organic Photodetectors Based on Non‐Fullerene Acceptors with Detection above 1200 nm

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed organic photodetectors (OPDs) based on two novel low band gap non‐fullerene acceptors BZIC‐2F and BZIC‐2Cl, when blended with common polymer donor P3HT, extend detection range beyond 1200 nm with superior performance, rivaling costly inorganic sensors and past literature.

Sub-picosecond Graphene-based Harmonically Mode-Locked Fiber Laser With Repetition Rates up to 2.22 GHz

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Passive harmonic-mode locking (PHML) of erbium-doped fiber laser with multilayer graphene is presented. The laser could operate at several harmonics (from 2nd to 21st) of the fundamental repetition frequency of the ring resonator (106 MHz).

Tunable Microwave Pulse Generation Based on an Actively Mode-Locked Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
A tunable microwave-pulse-generation scheme is proposed and demonstrated by employing an actively mode-locked optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on a microwave photonic filter (MPF).

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Multi-Domain Modeling of Free-Running Harmonic Frequency Comb Formation in Terahertz Quantum Cascade Lasers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
Optical frequency comb (OFC) emission in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) is highly attractive for applications in metrology and sensing. Recently, coherent OFC mode-locking with large intermodal spacing was demonstrated in QCLs.

Bright and Dark Square Pulses Generated From a Graphene-Oxide Mode-Locked Ytterbium-Doped Fiber Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
The observation of the bright pulses and dark square pulses in a graphene-oxide saturable absorber (GOSA) passively mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser has been investigated experimentally.

Generation and Quenching of Intensity Pulsations in Semiconductor Lasers Coupled to External Cavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The behavior of self-pulsing and nonpulsing lasers coupled to external cavities is investigated experimentally and theoretically. We investigate the dependence of the pulsation characteristics on the external cavity length using a saturable absorber ...

Versatile Magneto‐Dielectric Response of Epitaxial Thin Films of the High Entropy Oxide Perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The magnetic high entropy oxide perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3 exhibits a substantially large dielectric constant (εr) at room temperature, which shows distinct anionic and cationic contributions in the form of zero and finite bias peaks, respectively, down to its magnetic transition temperature (Tmag).

Spin-transfer-torque resonant switching and injection locking in presence of a weak external microwave field for spin valves with perpendicular materials

open access: yes, 2010
The effects of a weak microwave field in the magnetization dynamics driven by spin-transfer-torque in spin-valves with perpendicular materials have been systematically studied by means of full micromagnetic simulations.
