Effect of sowing date and plant density on grain and flower yield of Pot Marigold (Calendula officinalis L.)

open access: yesپژوهشهای زراعی ایران, 2009
Pot marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) is a medicinal herb whose dried flower heads are used to heal wounds. In order to study the effects of sowing dates and plant density on grain and flower yield of pot marigold, an experiment was conducted at ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Genetic variability for different biometric traits in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) under medium fertility conditions [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2014
This study was carried out at CCS HAU, Regional Research Station, Bawal (Haryana) during rabi 2012-13 with 24 wheat genotypes to assess the genetic variability, correlation and path coefficient analysis under medium fertility conditions.

Relationship of Photosynthesis and Harvest Index to Sweet Potato Yield [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1990
Field experiments with 15 sweet potato [Ipomoea batatas L. (Lam.)] genotypes were conducted to study the physiological basis of yield in 1981 and 1982. The leaf area index differed significantly among the sweet potato genotypes during early and late phases of growth, hut showed an ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Zeolite Use Efficiency Variation under Water Deficit Stress in Grass Pea and Lentil [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал Сибирского федерального университета: Серия Биология, 2016
To evaluate the effect of different application rates of zeolites under drought stress conditions on the protein and biomass production, and zeolite use efficiency in grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) and lentil (Lens culinaris L.), two-way ANOVA based on ...

Evaluation the Effect of Seed Priming with Zinc Sulfate on Photosynthesis and Yield Components, of Two Varieties of Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) under Water Deficit Stress [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های حبوبات ایران
IntroductionCowpea is among the most important plants of the legume family, being a good source of protein, fiber, and essential nutrients. Cowpeas are also cost-effective and have high nutritional value.
