[An analysis of clinical features in HBeAg-negative and HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B].
Zhonghua gan zang bing za zhi = Zhonghua ganzangbing zazhi = Chinese journal of hepatology, 2010To analyze the frequency and the clinical and virological features of HBeAg-negative and HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B.Four hundred and seventeen chronic hepatitis B patients, 286 males and 131 females seen in our center were studied. Liver biopsies were taken from 83 patients. The cases with HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B were 241 (57.8 ...

Radioimmunoassay for the detection of HBeAg and anti-HBe.
Bollettino dell'Istituto sieroterapico milanese, 1978We describe a solid-phase radioimmunoassay, based on the "sandwich" principle, using anti-HBe1/anti-HBe2 containing IgG precoated to polystirene beads as the solid-phase, and 125I-anti-HBE as labelled antibody for the detection of HBeAg and a two steps competitive procedure for the detection of anti-HBe.

Summary. Quantification of HBeAg levels has been found to be useful in monitoring and predicting the outcomes of interferon and lamivudine treatment in HBeAg‐positive patients. The aim of this study was to determine whether quantification of HBeAg at baseline and on treatment could predict which patients would achieve HBeAg seroconversion after 96 ...

[The "e" antigen (HBeAg) in leprosy].
Quaderni Sclavo di diagnostica clinica e di laboratorio, 1978Sixty-six sera from leprosy patients, 42 with lepromatous leprosy (l.l.) and 24 with tuberculoid leprosy (t.l.) were examinated for the presence of e-antigen and e-antibody by immunodiffusion. The test for e-antigen was negative in all leprosy patients; e-antibodies were found in only three patients (4.5%) with l.l., all carriers of hepatitis B antigen.

A counterimmunoelectrophoretic technique is presented for the serological detection of the e system. Counterimmunoelectrophoresis was found reproducible and easy to perform; it is quicker and more sensitive than immunodiffusion since out of 243 HBSAg positive carriers, it detected HBeAg or anti-HBe in other 42 (17.3%) sera in addition to the 96 ...

[Study on binding of HBeAg to CD81].
Xi bao yu fen zi mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of cellular and molecular immunology, 2006To investigate the interaction between HBeAg and CD81.The CD81 gene was amplified by RT-PCR from HepG2 cells. The recombinant expression vector pGADT7-CD81 was constructed by routine molecular biological method. The auxotroph yeast cells were cotransfected with pGADT7-CD81 and pGBKT7-eAg and plated on synthetic dropout nutrient medium (SD/-Trp-Leu-His ...
