Low Prevalence of Human T‐Cell Lymphotropic Virus Type 1 (HTLV‐1) in a Hospital Triage Population in Tehran During 2024–2025

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Human T‐cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV‐1) is a retrovirus that is associated to adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) and HTLV‐1–associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP) as two major diseases of the virus.

Targeting Melanoma‐Specific Tyrosinase Disrupts Cytoskeleton Dynamics for Precision Apoptosis Induction by a De Novo Designed Cyclic Peptide

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study develops a tyrosinase‐activated cyclic peptide self‐assembly system to combat drug‐resistant melanoma. Cyclization of tyrosine/lysine‐rich peptides via ortho‐phthalaldehyde enables tyrosinase‐triggered quinone formation and nanostructure assembly, disrupting melanoma cell cytoskeletons by blocking actin polymerization and inducing apoptosis.

HBZ-expressing cells display resistance to stress-mediated killing.

open access: yes, 2019
(A) HeLa cells expressing HBZ exhibit resistance to the cytotoxic effects of hemin. MTT assays were used to quantify the relative viability of HeLa cells stably expressing HBZ or containing the empty expression vector (pcDNA) cultured in low-serum medium

HTLV-I antisense transcripts initiating in the 3'LTR are alternatively spliced and polyadenylated

open access: yesRetrovirology, 2006
Background Antisense transcription in retroviruses has been suggested for both HIV-1 and HTLV-I, although the existence and coding potential of these transcripts remain controversial.

Molecular and Phylogenetic Characterization of HTLV‐1 Infection in Patients With Hematological Malignancies in the State of Pará, Northern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Human T‐lymphotropic viruses 1 and 2 (HTLV‐1 and HTLV‐2) were first isolated from patients with hematological malignancies. This study was the first to investigate the frequency of HTLV‐1 and its molecular diversity among patients with hematolymphoid cancers who were treated at a leading reference hospital in Pará, northern Brazil.

HTLV-1 bZIP factor induces inflammation through labile Foxp3 expression.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2013
Human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) causes both a neoplastic disease and inflammatory diseases, including HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP).

HTLV-1's Foxy Strategy for Survival and Transmission

open access: yesFrontiers in Virology, 2022
Human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is the causative agent of adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma (ATL) and inflammatory diseases including HTLV-1-associated myelopathy (HAM).

Quantifying Thermo‐Fluid‐Chemical Coupling: Advection Governs Multi‐Phase Zonation and Self‐Sealing in a Hydrate‐Cold Seep System

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Deep fluid advection fundamentally governs the thermal‐fluid‐chemical evolution and distribution of hydrate‐cold seep systems. However, coupled relationships between deep fluid and shallow multiphase dynamics remain inadequately constrained.

Assessment of H-β zeolite as an ochratoxin binder for poultry

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2020
: Most of the cereal-based ingredients used in poultry feed are contaminated with ochratoxin-A (OTA). We have investigated H-β zeolite (HBZ) as a new OTA binder for poultry, along with widely used clay mineral-based product (CM), using in vitro and in ...
