CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.

Ocular Tremor in Parkinson’s Disease: Discussion, Debate, and Controversy

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2017
The identification of ocular tremor in a small cohort of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) had lay somewhat dormant until the recent report of a pervasive ocular tremor as a universal finding in a large PD cohort that was, however, generally absent ...

Oral propranolol for treatment of the subgroups of essential tremor: a systematic review and meta-analysis protocol

open access: yesBMJ Open, 2020
Introduction Essential tremor (ET), a tremor disorder, is one of the most common movement disorders. Only oral drugs (propranolol, primidone, topiramate, etc)are still the first-line treatment recommended by the Food and Drug Administration.

Long‐Term Neurologic Exam Findings in People Diagnosed and Treated During Acute HIV Infection

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Evaluate clinical and laboratory correlates of abnormal neurologic exam findings after acute HIV infection (AHI). Methods Participants from the RV254/SEARCH 010 cohort in Bangkok underwent standardized neurologic examinations at Weeks 0 (AHI), 12, 96, and 288 following antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Isolated Voice Tremor: A Clinical Variant of Essential Tremor or a Distinct Clinical Phenotype?

open access: yesTremor and Other Hyperkinetic Movements, 2020
Background: The consensus statement by the Task Force on Tremor of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society excludes individuals with “isolated voice tremor” as a clinical variant of essential tremor (ET).

The course of cervical dystonia with head tremor during botulinum toxin type A treatment

open access: yesНеврология, нейропсихиатрия, психосоматика, 2017
Objective: to evaluate the efficacy and safety of botulinum toxin type A (BTA) injections into the neck muscles to reduce dystonic postures, head tremor, and pain syndrome in patients with cervical dystonia (CD) within the first 8 cycles of treatment ...

Head Accelerometry May be Useful as a Test of Psychogenic Head Tremor [PDF]

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, 2014
Physiological studies of head tremor are challenging, and clinically relevant data to guide diagnosis in literature is sparse. Head accelerometry has been used as a quantitative assessment of botulinum toxin treatment in head tremor.1 Tremor studies rely on accelerometry to detect frequency and coherence for interpretation of test results.

A Toolkit for Targeted Neuromodulation of Striatal Direct Pathway Neurons Rescues Parkinsonian Motor Deficits in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adeno‐associated virus (AAV) toolkit enables selective anatomical and functional targeting of striatal D1‐MSNs through retrograde transduction. Enhanced capsids and engineered enhancers drive robust transgene expression across murine and primate models.

Remote Magnetomechanical Neuromodulation Uncovers Therapeutic Mechanisms for Alleviating Parkinsonian Symptoms in Freely Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.
