Heat-shock protein 70 binds microtubules and interacts with kinesin in tobacco pollen tubes

open access: yes, 2013
The heat-shock proteins of 70 kD are a family of ubiquitously expressed proteins important for protein folding. Heat-shock protein 70 assists other nascent proteins to achieve the spatial structure and ultimately helps the cell to protect against ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Identification of an exported heat shock protein 70 in Plasmodium falciparum

open access: yesParasite, 2013
Host cell remodelling is a hallmark of malaria pathogenesis. It involves protein folding, unfolding and trafficking events and thus participation of chaperones such as Hsp70s and Hsp40s is well speculated.

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...

Circular RNA circNrip1 Interacts with SYNCRIP to Promote Neuropathic Pain by Stabilizing Tlr2 mRNA in Primary Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

Heat shock protein 70 levels in children with nephrotic syndrome

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics
Background. Idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (NS) is the most prevalent glomerular disease in children. Heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) is synthesized in response to diverse stress factors like infections and oxidative stress.

The Development of ELISA and SPR-Based Immunoassays for the Detection of Heat Shock Proteins.

open access: yes, 2009
Heat shock proteins (Hsps) are highly conserved molecules in all eukaryotes and prokaryotes. They are named on the basis of their molecular weight and their synthesis is up-regulated by stress conditions such as inflammation, oxidative stress and ...

A sequential mechanism for clathrin cage disassembly by 70-kDa heat-shock cognate protein (Hsc70) and auxilin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An essential stage in endocytic coated vesicle recycling is the dissociation of clathrin from the vesicle coat by the molecular chaperone, Hsc70 and the J-domain-containing protein, auxilin, in an ATP-dependent process.

Disruption of Treg Homeostasis in Rheumatoid Arthritis via Ferroptosis‐Mediated ETC Collapse and TXK‐STAT3/PLCγ1 Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rheumatoid arthritis, synovial Tregs accumulate but are functionally impaired due to iron overload‐induced ferroptosis. This triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and TXK tyrosine kinase‐mediated signaling, leading to Treg destabilization and inflammation.

Heat Shock Protein 70 Gene Polymorphisms and Cancer Risk: A Meta-Analysis

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The polymorphisms in the three main heat shock protein 70 (HSP70-1, HSP70-2, and HSP70-hom) genes were identified to be associated with cancer risk. However, the results are inconsistent. We perform a meta-analysis to evaluate the association between the
