Results revealed that OGD reduced mitochondrial activity and cell viability in HEK293 and HEK293DOR after OGD. Exposure to moderate hypothermia alone, DADLE or combination thereof led to neuroprotection, which was best manifested in HEK293DOR cells. MTT:

This study explores the opposing effects of the mGluR2 and mGluR3 receptors on amyloid precursor protein processing. mGluR2 promotes amyloidogenic cleavage, while mGluR3 favors non‐amyloidogenic pathways. Using a brain‐penetrant nanobody as a mGluR2 positive allosteric modulator, the study uncovers how its chronic activation aggravates amyloid‐β burden

Y-axis represents the ratio of 6-MP concentration compared to only 6-MP treated HEK293 or HEK293/MRP4 cells, respectively. 293+MK571 and 293+Cpd23 stand for HEK293 cells with MK571 or Cpd23-treated, while MRP4+MK571 and MRP4+Cpd23 stand for HEK293/MRP4 ...

Multimodal Imaging Reveals Rapid Catecholamine Uptake and Release by Neutrophils
We show that immune cells (neutrophils) synthesize, uptake, and store catecholamine neurotransmitters such as dopamine or adrenaline. They also release them in response to specific stimuli (serotonin), which we directly visualize using fluorescent nanosensors. We further demonstrate that catecholamines affect neutrophil functions (NETosis) and platelet

The episomal structures of all human bocavirus (HBoV) genotypes have been deciphered, including the circular genome of HBoV2 (HBoV2-C1). To discern the role of the circular HBoV2 genome, three distinct linearized HBoV2-C1 genomes were cloned into ...

Fusarochromanone Induces G1 Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis in COS7 and HEK293 Cells
Fusarochromanone (FC101), a mycotoxin produced by the fungus Fusarium equiseti, is frequently observed in the contaminated grains and feedstuffs, which is toxic to animals and humans. However, the underlying molecular mechanism remains to be defined.

The agonistic activity of evocalcet on hCaR-expressing HEK293 (hCaR-HEK293) cells.
The transient changes in the cytoplasmic calcium concentration (Δ[Ca2+]i) induced by receptor activation were measured. (A) The effect of evocalcet on the Δ[Ca2+]i value in hCaR-HEK293 cells.

Engineering Microbial Particles for Next‐Generation Biomedical Platforms
Microbe‐derived particles (MDPs), which include extracellular vesicles, outer membrane vesicles, inclusion bodies, polysaccharide particles, and virus‐like particles, represent a rapidly expanding category of bioinspired nanomaterials. With their natural origin, intrinsic biocompatibility, and highly programmable functionality, MDPs serve as a ...

Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.

Microcystin-LR stabilizes c-myc protein by inhibiting protein phosphatase 2A in HEK293 cells
Microcystin-LR is the most toxic and the most frequently encountered toxin produced by the cyanobacteria in the contaminated aquatic environment. Previous studies have demonstrated that Microcystin-LR is a potential carcinogen for animals and humans, and
