Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Strontium Ranelate Elevates Expression of Heme Oxygenase-1 and Decreases Alveolar Bone Loss in Rats
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of strontium ranelate on ligature-induced periodontitis in rats and assess the putative involvement of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) pathway in these effects.

The silent information regulator 1 pathway attenuates ROS-induced oxidative stress in Alzheimer's disease [PDF]
We show that down-regulation of circular ribonucleic acid 0001588 with small interfering-circular ribonucleic acid 0001588 mimics promoted caspase-3 and caspase-9 activity levels, increased lactate dehydrogenase activity levels, and reduced cell growth ...

This study investigates how ischemia‐free liver transplantation (IFLT) shapes both local and systemic immune responses compared with conventional liver transplantation (CLT). Our findings demonstrate that IFLT confers significant immunological protection by attenuating the STAT3‐HIF‐1α axis and enhancing the Heme‐HMOX1 pathway, two regulatory networks ...

Hemin as a protective agent in an in vitro model of hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced injury
Objective: Ischemia-reperfusion injury exacerbates myocardial damage and affects the prognosis of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction. This study investigates the potential cytoprotective effects of hemin in an in vitro cardiomyocyte model ...

Heme-Oxygenase and Kidney Transplantation: A Potential for Target Therapy?
Kidney transplantation is a well-established therapy for patients with end-stage renal disease. While a significant improvement of short-term results has been achieved in the short-term, similar results were not reported in the long-term. Heme-oxygenase (

In PCOS patients with hyperandrogenemia, decreased ferritin heavy chain 1 (FTH1) causes Fe2⁺ overload and ferroptosis in trophoblasts. Androgens induce FTH1 protein degradation via AR‐LAMP2A‐mediated chaperone‐mediated autophagy pathway, leading to placental development disruption and early pregnancy loss. Metformin mitigates androgen‐induced placental

Systemic hemin therapy attenuates blood–brain barrier disruption after intracerebral hemorrhage
Injury to the blood–brain barrier (BBB) is a key feature of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and may contribute to perihematomal cell injury. Pretreatment with the heme oxygenase (HO)-1 inducer hemin improves barrier function and neurological outcome in ...

Heme oxygenase-1 in osteosarcoma
The present study was planned to analyze serum heme oxygenase-1 levels in osteosarcoma patients.Twenty five histopathologically confirmed cases of osteosarcoma localized without metastasis of all the ages attending the Orthopedic Clinics were included in the study group and twenty five patients having musculoskeletal pain (age and sex matched) served ...
