Cleavage‐Resistant CYLD Protects Against Autoimmune Hepatitis
Proteolytic cleavage of the deubiquitinase CYLD emerges as a critical driver of autoimmune hepatitis. TNFα‐induced CYLD loss in macrophages amplifies S100A9‐triggered MAPK activation, leading to excessive chemokine production and hepatic inflammation. Pharmacological inhibition of MEK signaling effectively attenuates experimental disease, highlighting ...

Does limited virucidal activity of biocides include duck hepatitis B virucidal action? [PDF]
BACKGROUND: There is agreement that the infectivity assay with the duck hepatitis B virus (DHBV) is a suitable surrogate test to validate disinfectants for hepatitis B virucidal activity.

An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

A case of atypical disseminated herpes simplex virus 1 with hepatitis in a liver transplant recipient: the need for dermatologic evaluation [PDF]
Disseminated herpes simplex virus (HSV) is mainly seen in immunocompromised individuals. Atypical lesions can be present in both primary infection and reactivation disease. Compared with the general population, inmunocompromised hosts are at greater risk

Clinical-evolutional particularities of the cryoglobulinemic vasculitis in the case of a patient diagnosed with hepatitis C virus in the predialitic phase [PDF]
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) represents a fundamental issue for public health, with long term evolution and the gradual appearance of several complications and associated pathologies.

ImmuDef, a novel algorithm to quantitatively evaluate the anti‐infection immune defense function of an individual based on RNA‐seq data via a variational autoencoder (VAE) model. It is validated on 3200+ samples across four immune states with high accuracy. It can serve as a metric for disease severity and prognosis across pathogenic cohorts.

Maternal pre-pregnancy infection with hepatitis B virus and the risk of preterm birth: a population-based cohort study [PDF]
Background Preterm birth is the leading cause of child death in children younger than 5 years. Large cohort studies in developed countries have shown that maternal hepatitis B virus infection is associated with preterm birth, but there is little ...

The Regulatory Role of Iron Transporter SLC39A13 in Liver Fibrosis
SLC39A13/ZIP13, a newly discovered intracellular iron transporter, delivers iron to the ER/Golgi to catalyze procollagen hydroxylation during collagen maturation. Here, we systematically characterize the cell type‐specific functions of ZIP13 across distinct hepatic cell populations, and identify hepatic stellate cell‐specific ZIP13 as a promising and ...

Cell receptor-independent infection by a neurotropic murine coronavirus. [PDF]
The cellular receptors for a coronavirus, mouse hepatitis virus (MHV), have been recently identified as one or more members of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family. The neurotropic JHM strain of MHV (MHV-JHM) possesses a highly fusogenic surface (S)
