We carried out proteomic analysis of serum extracellular vesicles to identify biomarkers predictive of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development in patients with chronic hepatitis B receiving nucleos(t)ide analog therapy. Candidate proteins identified through proteomic analysis were subsequently quantified in serum by ELISA.

Opposite roles of cannabinoid receptors 1 and 2 in hepatocarcinogenesis
OBJECTIVE: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) exerts key roles in the development of liver fibrosis and fatty liver, two diseases that promote the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although cannabinoids exert potent antitumour effects in vitro,

Hepatitis C virus and hepatocarcinogenesis
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an RNA virus that is unable to integrate into the host genome. However, its proteins interact with various host proteins and induce host responses. The oncogenic process of HCV infection is slow and insidious and probably requires multiple steps of genetic and epigenetic alterations, the activation of cellular oncogenes, the ...

One‐year reassessment of type IV collagen 7S, supported by quantitative M2BPGi‐Qt assessment, helped refine long‐term hepatocellular carcinoma risk stratification in patients with chronic hepatitis B receiving nucleos(t)ide analogue therapy. On‐treatment 4COL7S emerged as a novel marker of residual fibrosis‐related HCC risk.

Hepatitis B virus X protein accelerates the development of hepatoma
The chronic infection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is closely related to the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Accumulated evidence has shown that HBV X protein (HBx protein) is a multifunctional regulator with a crucial role in

ABSTRACT Aim In Fontan‐associated liver disease (FALD), chronic congestion often confounds conventional fibrosis markers, complicating surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although lymphatic dysfunction is fundamental to Fontan physiology, its contribution to hepatocarcinogenesis remains unclear.

Hepatocarcinogenesis: A Polygenic Model of Inherited Predisposition to Cancer
The murine inbred strain C3H provides an experimental model of inherited predisposition to hepatocellular cancer. Hepatocellular neoplastic lesions induced by chemical carcinogens reach a volume 10-100-fold greater in C3H mice than in genetically ...

HEPATOCARCINOGENESIS BY PEROXISOME PROLIFERATORS
It is well known that various kinds of hypolipidemic drugs induce marked changes in the livers of rats and mice. The initial hepatic responses in rodents are marked hepatomegaly, proliferation of peroxisomes in association with changes in peroxisome structure and enzyme composition.
