11,12-Secoprostaglandins. 4. 7-(N-Alkylmethanesulfonamido)heptanoic acids

open access: closedJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1977
A series of 7-(N-alkylmethanesulfonamido) heptanoic acids has been prepared which represents an extension of our 8-aza-11,12-secoprostaglandin studies. The studies. The compounds mimic the natural prostaglandins in that they markedly stimulate cAMP formation in the mouse ovary assay.

Decarbonylation of heptanoic acid over carbon-supported platinum nanoparticles

open access: closedGreen Chem., 2014
The decarbonylation and decarboxylation of heptanoic acid over carbon-supported Pt nanoparticles were studied in a continuous flow fixed bed reactor at 573 K and 37 bar for liquid-phase operation and 1 bar for gas-phase operation. Under liquid-phase conditions, the TOF over Pt supported on Norit carbon was 0.0052 s−1 and independent of Pt loading.

Simple polyol route to synthesize heptanoic acid coated magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles

open access: closedMaterials Research Bulletin, 2013
Abstract Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were prepared via polyol method by using FeCl2 as only source of iron. As-prepared samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM ...

Growth and Polymer Incorporation of Pseudomonas oleovorans on Alkyl Esters of Heptanoic Acid

open access: closedMacromolecules, 1994
Heptanoic acid and its methyl, ethyl and propyl esters were used as substrates in order to determine the growth behavior of P. oleovorans on these substrates. It was found that the cell densities reached during the fermentations depended strongly on the substrates concentrations.

Production of ω-hydroxyundec-9-enoic acid and n-heptanoic acid from ricinoleic acid by recombinant Escherichia coli-based biocatalyst

open access: closedProcess Biochemistry, 2014
Abstract ω-Hydroxyundec-9-enoic acid and n -heptanoic acid are valuable building blocks for the production of flavors and antifungal agents as well as bioplastics such as polyamides and polyesters. However, a biosynthetic process to allow high productivity and product yield has not been reported.
