The tert-Amino Effect in Heterocyclic Chemistry. Synthesis of Spiro Heterocycles [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2005
The tert-amino reaction effect was examined. A new method to synthesize spiro heterocycles is presented. It was shown that the “tert-amino effect” could be applied to the formation of spiro-fused heterocycles. The formation of spiro compounds proceeds in most cases in good yields in a one-pot reaction.

Superelectrophilic carbocations: preparation and reactions of a substrate with six ionizable groups

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
A substrate has been prepared having two triarylmethanol centers and four pyridine-type substituent groups. Upon ionization in the Brønsted superacid CF3SO3H, the substrate undergoes two types of reactions.

Shear‐Induced Emergence of Aromatic Superlow‐Friction Interfaces in Amorphous Carbon: Triggering Chemical Impurities and Atomic‐Scale Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput quantum‐mechanical simulations reveal that amorphous carbon undergoes shear‐driven structural transformation into aromatic, graphene‐like interfaces. This mechanochemical process is governed by dopant chemistry: dopants with valency less than four promote the emergence of superlow‐friction amorphous graphene, whereas tetra‐valent ...

Recent advances in the electrochemical construction of heterocycles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Due to the fact that the major portion of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals contains heterocyclic units and since the overall number of commercially used heterocyclic compounds is steadily growing, heterocyclic chemistry remains in the focus of the ...

(Z)-2-[Methoxy(phenyl)methylidene]-3,4,5-trimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1,3-thiazole

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
In the title compound, C14H17NOS, the plane defined by the bridging methylene C atom and its three substituents makes dihedral angles of 14.37 (8)° with the heterocycle and 26.17 (8)° with the phenyl ring, while the ...

Tetrafluoropyridazíne: a scaffold for the synthesis of highly functionalised heterocycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
There is a great desire for the synthesis of new heteroaromatic compounds, which have a range of applications from pharmaceuticals to materials. These industries require large numbers of heterocyclic derivatives for their screening programmes, however ...

W‐N‐C Tandem Catalytic Centers Mediating Efficient Charge Transfer for the Enhanced Radical‐Path U(VI) Photoreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work constructed a tandem W−N−C center to simultaneously achieve the regulation of reaction pathways and optimization of charge separation efficiency. The Lewis‐acidic W6+ sites activated O2 to generate O2−$O_2^ - $, with enhanced charge separation via electronic modulation, steering U(VI) reduction down an efficient radical pathway.

Synthesis and properties of oxasmaragdyrins containing one five-membered heterocycle at meso-position

open access: yes, 2016
The oxasmaragdyrins containing one five membered heterocycle such as pyrrole, thiophene and furan in place of one of the meso-phenyl group were synthesized by acid-catalyzed oxidative coupling reaction of meso-heterocycle substituted dipyrromethane with ...

Quinoline: A versatile heterocyclic

open access: yesSaudi Pharmaceutical Journal, 2013
Quinoline or 1-aza-naphthalene is a weak tertiary base. Quinoline ring has been found to possess antimalarial, anti-bacterial, antifungal, anthelmintic, cardiotonic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activity. Quinoline not only has a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities but there are several established protocols for ...
