Impact of Heated Versus Unheated Cooking Oil on Postprandial Vascular Function and Metabolism

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The impact of repeated heating of seed‐based culinary oils on cardiometabolic health has not been well established. Heating oils to high temperatures (> 150°C) causes lipid peroxidation, thus generating potentially harmful compounds that may impair vascular function. This randomized, single‐blind, crossover study investigated the acute effects

Emollient Formulations and Skin Barrier Practices in the Context of Eczema and Food Allergy Prevention

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The skin is far from a passive shield; it functions as a dynamic “living barrier” whose structural and immunological integrity is paramount in preventing atopic dermatitis (AD) and the subsequent progression of the atopic march toward food allergy (FA).

The perspectives of use of high oleic sunflower for oleochemistry and energy raws [PDF]

open access: yesHelia, 2006
The high oleic sunflower has a high potential for industrials use (oleochemistry and biodiesel). A sustainable development of agriculture can be achieved through the production of high oleic sunflower oil for use in green chemistry. In such a way will it be possible to create secure jobs in agriculture as well as in new industries, especially in rural ...
