Three Years of High-contrast Imaging of the PDS 70 b and c Exoplanets at Hα with MagAO-X: Evidence of Strong Protoplanet Hα Variability and Circumplanetary Dust

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present 3 yr of high-contrast imaging of the PDS 70 b and c accreting protoplanets with the new extreme AO system MagAO-X as part of the MaxProtoPlanetS survey of H α protoplanets.

Asymptotic expansions for high-contrast elliptic equations

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we present a high-order expansion for elliptic equations in high-contrast media. The background conductivity is taken to be one and we assume the medium contains high (or low) conductivity inclusions. We derive an asymptotic expansion with

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

The JWST Early Release Science Program for Direct Observations of Exoplanetary Systems. VI. Evidence for Radially Evolving Icy Grains in the HD 141569A Disk via NIRCam Coronagraphic Imaging

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present JWST NIRCam coronagraphic observations of the HD 141569A circumstellar disk, obtained as part of the JWST Early Release Science program. The observations recover the multi-ringed structure seen in previous shorter-wavelength observations, but ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The effect of simultaneous application of contrast temperature therapy and intermittent compression on recovery following exercise induced muscle damage

open access: yes, 2011
Objective: To determine the effects of the simultaneous application of contrast temperature therapy with intermittent compression as a recovery strategy for the quadriceps muscle following exercise induced muscle damage in moderately active adult ...

High Framerate Imaging of Ultrasound Contrast Agents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs) consists of a suspension of tiny gas bubbles that is injected into a patient's bloodstream to enhance the visualization of blood in ultrasound images.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

High-dynamic-range imaging optical detectors

open access: yes, 2002
Imaging spectrometers allowing spatially resolved targets to be spectrally discriminated are valuable for remote sensing and defense applications. The drawback of such instruments is the need to quickly process very large amounts of data.

Structured light sheet microscopy for high contrast 3D imaging of whole mouse brain

open access: yes, 2021
Tissue clearing allows 3D-imaging of large biomedical samples, but can be affected by blur effects limiting individual cells detection. Using a structured illumination light sheet we solve this issue, obtaining high-contrast images in turbid ...
