Peri‐Implantitis and Periodontitis: Biological Convergence, Contextual Divergence

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Periodontal and peri‐implant tissues differ and coincide in many aspects, from the clinical and radiological perspective, including histology, microbiology, and molecular markers. Thus, health and disease may also follow different and similar routes.

The Role of Piezo 1 in the Study of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration: Phenotype, Mechanism and Treatment

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
As the key mechanotransducer in IVDD, Piezo1 orchestrates region‐specific degeneration across NP (senescence/ECM dysregulation), AF (apoptosis), and CEP (inflammation). This review integrates mechanistic pathways and assesses multimodal therapeutic targeting (pharmacologic/genetic/nutritional) to restore disc homeostasis.

Circular RNAs: Unlocking new avenues in cardiometabolic disease management

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In the heart circular RNAs (circRNAs) function as microRNA sponges, interact with proteins and can even undergo translation. Advances in bioinformatics now enable their identification through high‐throughput RNA sequencing, whereas computational analyses reveal differential expression in cardiac disease settings.

Biomaterial Physical Cues as Gene Regulators for Cellular Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Genetics, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
This review elucidates how biomaterial physical cues—ranging from matrix stiffness to remote electromagnetic fields—serve as extrinsic regulators of gene expression in cellular agriculture. By identifying central mechanotransduction pathways that bridge physical inputs to genetic remodeling, the authors propose the “Material Genome” concept: a ...

Heterokairic Genes and the Eco‐Evo‐Devo of Timing

open access: yesEvolution &Development, Volume 28, Issue 2, June 2026.
Heterokairic genes as the bridge (Heterokairic Pathways?): Heterokairic genes are heterochronic regulators whose activity is modulated by environmental conditions. External cues (e.g., temperature, nutrition, oxygen, density: yellow box) are sensed (yellow arrows) and converted into endocrine and metabolic signals (purple box and arrow into fish's ...

Plasma Proteomics Identifies Thousand‐and‐One–Amino Acid Kinase 3 as a Potential Biomarker of Rheumatoid Arthritis Activity and a Novel Therapeutic Target

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 5, Page 1045-1061, May 2026.
Objective Bone destruction associated with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remains a major therapeutic challenge, with a lack of reliable molecular markers reflecting bone injury. This study aims to identify novel biomarkers linked to bone destruction in active RA through proteomic analysis, providing new strategies for precise monitoring and targeted
