Aspects of histocompatibility testing in xenotransplantation. [PDF]
Xenotransplantation, using genetically-modified pigs for clinical organ transplantation, is a solution to the organ shortage. The biggest barrier to clinical implementation is the antigenicity of pig cells. Humans possess preformed antibody to pig cells that initiate antibody-mediated rejection of pig organs in primates. Advances in genetic engineering

Antidrug antibody (ADA) responses impact drug safety, potency, and efficacy. It is generally assumed that ADA responses are associated with human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class II-restricted CD4+ T-cell reactivity.

Histocompatibility testing in patients with carcinoma of the bladder [PDF]
A number of disease states have been found to have a positive association with certain HLA antigens. Weak associations have been described for a number of cancers. Seventy patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder underwent serotyping for HLA, A, B, C, and DR antigens. There were 54 men and 16 women patients with a mean age of 65.3 years.

Histocompatibility testing of dog families with highly polymorphic microsatellite markers.
The dog has served traditionally as a model for marrow and organ transplantation. A key component of any study of transplantation is histocompatibility typing of donors and recipients.

Third party mixed-leukocyte culture test: a potential new method of histocompatibility testing.
The disparity index is an expression of histocompatibility difference between two siblings with identical human leukocyte antigen (HL-A) type who are nonreactive in mixed leukocyte culture (MLC) test.
