Aspects of histocompatibility testing in xenotransplantation. [PDF]

open access: yesTranspl Immunol, 2021
Xenotransplantation, using genetically-modified pigs for clinical organ transplantation, is a solution to the organ shortage. The biggest barrier to clinical implementation is the antigenicity of pig cells. Humans possess preformed antibody to pig cells that initiate antibody-mediated rejection of pig organs in primates. Advances in genetic engineering

Pretransplant histocompatibility testing algorithm: Laboratory and clinical approach in the Indian context

open access: yes, 2021
Remarkable advances in histocompatibility testing have immensely improved the safety of transplantation and have decreased the incidence of rejections.

Major Histocompatibility Complex Binding, Eluted Ligands, and Immunogenicity: Benchmark Testing and Predictions

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Antidrug antibody (ADA) responses impact drug safety, potency, and efficacy. It is generally assumed that ADA responses are associated with human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class II-restricted CD4+ T-cell reactivity.

A special report: histocompatibility testing guidelines for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation using volunteer donors.

open access: yesTissue Antigens, 1999
The World Marrow Donor Association has formulated guidelines for establishing the extent and quality of histocompatibility testing for unrelated donor registries, umbilical cord blood banks, and transplant centers involved in international exchange of ...

Histocompatibility testing in patients with carcinoma of the bladder [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1983
A number of disease states have been found to have a positive association with certain HLA antigens. Weak associations have been described for a number of cancers. Seventy patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder underwent serotyping for HLA, A, B, C, and DR antigens. There were 54 men and 16 women patients with a mean age of 65.3 years.

Histocompatibility testing of dog families with highly polymorphic microsatellite markers.

open access: yesTransplantation, 1996
The dog has served traditionally as a model for marrow and organ transplantation. A key component of any study of transplantation is histocompatibility typing of donors and recipients.

Third party mixed-leukocyte culture test: a potential new method of histocompatibility testing.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1972
The disparity index is an expression of histocompatibility difference between two siblings with identical human leukocyte antigen (HL-A) type who are nonreactive in mixed leukocyte culture (MLC) test.
