Biophysical Properties and Cytotoxicity of Feruloylated Helix Lucorum Hemocyanin
For the first time Helix lucorum hemocyanin (HlH) has been feruloylated. Two HlH conjugates with 40- and 120- ferulic acid residues were prepared, denoted as FA-HlH-1 and FA-HlH-2.

Perivascular matrix densification promotes the emergence of aberrant endothelial tip cells (ATECs) that invade and persist within fibrotic microenvironments. Using in vivo lineage tracing and a human microvessel model, this study shows that fibrous matrix cues destabilize VE‐cadherin–mediated junctions to gate TGF‐β signaling, inducing a pro ...

The BnTFL1‐BnJAM3‐BnSWEETs Module Orchestrates Seed Storage Reserve Accumulation in Brassica napus
BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 form a complex that facilitates the transport of soluble sugars from the seed coat to the embryo by directly activating the expression of BnSWEETs. Furthermore, BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 work cooperatively to promote soluble sugar and oil production while suppressing protein deposition.

Alleviating the storm: ruxolitinib in HLH [PDF]
In this issue of Blood, Das and colleagues report their results on the use of the Janus kinase 1/2 (JAK1/2) inhibitor ruxolitinib in murine models of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), and the HLH-sibling macrophage activation syndrome (MAS).

The uncovered IKKβ‐USP28‐HEY1 axis fuels cancer stemness and immune evasion in hepatocellular carcinoma. USP28 deubiquitinates HEY1 upon IKKβ‐mediated phosphorylation, conferring PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade resistance. Pharmacological inhibition of USP28 sensitizes resistant tumors to anti‐PD‐1 immunotherapy, revealing a promising therapeutic strategy ...

Fatal case of EBV induced hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), presenting with acute abdomen
Introduction : Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare hyperinflammatory syndrome with excessive immune activation. Primary or secondary HLH, have a high mortality rate approaching 50%, despite multiple management regiments.

Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is a severe complication of systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA), driven by excessive activation of T cells and macrophages, resulting in a cytokine storm. IFN-γ and IL-18 play crucial roles, with monocyte and macrophage hyperresponsiveness to IFN-γ amplifying MAS-related inflammation.

ABSTRACT The predictive value of cytokines (CK) for malignancy‐associated adult hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (M‐HLHa) remains uncertain. We evaluated a cytokine‐based Risk Score (RS) and the IL‐10/IL‐6 Ratio to predict M‐HLHa. Adult patients (n = 112) from the French HLH cohort (NCT02113917) with complete data for nine key HLH related CK measured
