The combined dexamethasone/CRH Test (DEX/CRH test) and prediction of acute treatment response in major depression. [PDF]
In this study the predictive value of the combined dexamethasone/CRH test (DEX/CRH test) for acute antidepressant response was investigated. In 114 depressed inpatients suffering from unipolar or bipolar depression (sample 1) the DEX/CRH test was ...

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Endogenous monoamine oxidase inhibitory activity and HPA activation in the pig
Previously we have shown that an increase in endogenous monoamine oxidase A inhibitory activity (MAO-AI), measured in human saliva, both precedes and predicts psychological stress-induced activation of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis, as ...

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Risk of HPA-1a–immunization in HPA-1a–negative women after giving birth to an HPA-1a–positive child
BACKGROUND: Fetal/neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT) is the platelet counterpart of hemolytic disease of the newborn. Most severe cases of FNAIT are caused by antibodies against human platelet antigen-1a (HPA-1a).

The lectin from Helix pomatia (HPA) binds to adenocarcinomas with a metastatic phenotype but the glycoconjugates of cancer cells that bind to the lectin have yet to be characterized in detail. We used a model of metastatic (HT29) and nonmetastatic (SW480)

Fetal neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT) is caused by maternal alloantibodies directed against the human platelet antigens (mostly HPA-1a or HPA-5b) of the (unborn) child and can lead to severe bleeding.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...
