Role of heat shock protein HSP70-2 in spermatogenesis

Reviews of Reproduction, 1999
The HSP70 heat-shock proteins are molecular chaperones that assist other proteins in their folding, transport and assembly into complexes. Most of these proteins are either constitutively expressed or their expression is induced by heat shock and other stresses.

Differential Expression of Heat Shock Protein (HSP70) mRNAs in Rat Cells

Experimental Cell Research, 1996
Heat shock treatment in PC12 cells induces the synthesis of two HSP70 transcripts of 2.55 and 3.05 kb in size, while only a 70-kDa protein is shown by SDS-PAGE. Using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction strategy, two mRNA species were amplified from heat-shocked PC12 cells and sequenced.

HSP70-2 heat-shock protein of mouse spermatogenic cells

The Journal of Experimental Zoology, 1998
The HSP70 heat-shock proteins are molecular chaperones that assist other proteins in folding, transport, and assembly into complexes. The genes for these proteins are either constitutively expressed (Hsc70, Grp78), or their expression is induced by heat shock and other stresses (Hsp70-1, Hsp70-3).

Detection of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and anti-HSP70 antibodies in the serum of normal individuals

Immunological Investigations, 1998
Heat shock or stress proteins (Hsp) are typically regarded as being intracellular proteins that have a range of functions including the maintenance of cellular integrity. Members of the Hsp70 family of molecules have been implicated in the processing and presentation of antigen and the cross reactivity of lymphocytes specific for pathogen-derived heat ...

HSP70 heat shock protein induction following global ischemia in the rat

Molecular Brain Research, 1995
Stress proteins, including the 70 kD heat shock protein (HSP70), are induced in injured cells. The present study was designed to characterize the cells injured by global ischemia in rat brain. Adult rats were subjected to forebrain ischemia using bilateral carotid occlusion and systemic hypotension.

The Effect of Age on the Synthesis of Two Heat Shock Proteins in the HSP70 Family

Journal of Gerontology, 1993
Hepatocytes isolated from male F344 rats were exposed to elevated temperatures (40 degrees C to 45 degrees C), and the incorporation of [35S]-L-methionine into proteins was measured from fluorograms of two-dimensional polyacrylamide gels. The synthesis of two proteins was induced by temperatures of 40 degrees C to 42.5 degrees C; however, 45 degrees C ...

Spondyloarthropathies and bone resorption: A possible role of heat shock protein (Hsp70)

Acta Physiologica Hungarica, 2009
Spondyloarthropathies consist of chronic inflammatory disorders genetically linked with each other through HLA-B27 molecules, and are connected with the destruction of periarticular bone and also with systemic bone loss in many cases. Expected molecular mechanisms behind these conditions overlap the functions of Hsp70s, a group of major molecular ...

Interaction of the Immunosuppressant Deoxyspergualin with a Member of the Hsp70 Family of Heat Shock Proteins

Science, 1992
Deoxyspergualin (DSG) is a potent immunosuppressant whose mechanism of action remains unknown. To elucidate its mechanism of action, an intracellular DSG binding protein was identified. DSG has now been shown to bind specifically to Hsc70, the constitutive or cognate member of the heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) protein family.

A MOLECULAR DYNAMICS STUDY OF THE HEAT SHOCK PROTEIN Hsp70

2015
Heat shock protein Hsp70 is a chaperon which helps folding of other proteins. It consists of two domains: a nucleotide binding domain where ATP or ADP binds and a substrate binding domain where the protein to be folded binds [1]. In the presence of ATP, the substrate affinity of Hsp70 is low. Binding of a substrate triggers ATP hydrolysis. In ADP bound
