Epidemiological and etiological investigations of hand, foot, and mouth disease in Jiashan, northeastern Zhejiang Province, China, during 2016 to 2022

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundHand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common infectious disease in children. Enterovirus A71 (EV71) and coxsackievirus A16 (CA16) have been identified as the predominant pathogens for several decades. In recent years, coxsackievirus A6 (CA6)

Diversity Patterns of Domestic Herbivore Viruses in China Reveal Transmission Dynamics with Disease Management Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Characterization of Infections of Human Leukocytes by Non-Polio Enteroviruses

open access: yesIntervirology, 2011
To elucidate the detailed susceptibilities of leukocytes to clinically important non-polio enteroviruses (EVs), primary monocytes and various human leukocyte cell lines were infected with coxsackievirus A24 (CVA24), coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3), and enterovirus 70 (EV70).

[Receptor specificity of human enteroviruses].

open access: yesVoprosy virusologii, 2008
The review presents the currently available data on the receptor specificity of enteroviruses. It discusses whether changes in the receptor specificity of enteroviruses may play a role in their in vitro and in vivo reproduction.
