Capacitation of Human Naïve Pluripotent Stem Cells
2021Naïve and primed pluripotent stem cells resemble epiblast cells of the pre-implantation and post-implantation embryo, respectively. This chapter describes a simple experimental system for the efficient and consistent transition of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) from the naïve to the primed state, which is a process called capacitation.

Human pluripotent stem cells: a progress report
Current Opinion in Genetics & Development, 2001The derivation of diploid human pluripotent stem cell lines from either human blastocysts or embryonic gonads in 1998 attracted a great deal of interest because of the widespread potential applications of these cells in research and in regenerative medicine.

FISH Analysis of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells
2011Human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) hold promise for treating a multitude of diseases. These fascinating cells are unique in their ability to both self-renew and differentiate into cells from all three germ layers. However, PSCs, as well as other cultured cells, are prone to genetic instability.

Maintenance of Human Naïve Pluripotent Stem Cells
2021Naïve pluripotent stem cells are the in vitro counterparts of pre-implantation embryonic epiblast. During the last few years, several protocols for establishing and maintaining human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) with naïve features have been reported, and many of these protocols result in cell populations with different molecular characteristics.
