Binding of 99mTc to human serum albumin

open access: yesAl-Mustansiriyah Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2004
The specificity of 99m Tc-MDP binding to HSA was examined , the results showed that the non specific binding was 21-23% of the total binding . The range of optimum pH for the binding was 7.4-7.6 .

Serum Albumin Redox States: More Than Oxidative Stress Biomarker

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2021
Serum albumin is the most abundant circulating protein in mammals including humans. It has three isoforms according to the redox state of the free cysteine residue at position 34, named as mercaptalbumin (reduced albumin), non-mercaptalbumin-1 and -2 ...

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

A simple colorimetric assay to determine the concentration and proportion of human mercaptalbumin

open access: yesPractical Laboratory Medicine, 2022
Objectives: Human serum albumin can take on two forms, mercaptalbumin (HMA) or non-mercaptalbumin (HNA), depending on the redox status of its Cys34. The ratio of HMA and HNA is considered to be a novel biomarker of oxidative stress.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

THE EMULSIFICATION OF HUMAN SERUM ALBUMIN AND HYALURONIC ACID SOLUTIONS IN POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANE PDMS-1000 [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnologia Acta, 2014
To create a biologically inert material suitable for use in a wide range of temperatures and in corrosive environments, the methods of optical microscopy and NMR-cryometry were used for investigation of emulsification of solutions of human serum albumin ...
