Sponge Hybridomas: Applications and Implications [PDF]

open access: yesIntegrative and Comparative Biology, 2013
Many sponge-derived natural products with applications to human health have been discovered over the past three decades. In vitro production has been proposed as one biological alternative to ensure adequate supply of marine natural products for preclinical and clinical development of drugs. Although primary cell cultures have been established for many

3D Mitochondrial Structure in Aging Human Skeletal Muscle: Insights Into MFN‐2‐Mediated Changes

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Changes in mitochondrial structure and dynamics during aging provide a mechanism for the development of age‐related sarcopenia, a condition characterized by muscle mass loss. Through the creation of three‐dimensional models of mitochondria from quadriceps muscle tissue taken from old and young humans, a loss in mitochondrial complexity was observed to ...

Antigen presentation by Ia+ B cell hybridomas to H-2-restricted T cell hybridomas.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1982
The Ia+, H-2d BALB/c lymphoma cell line L10.A 2J was fused to T cell-depleted spleen cells from mouse strains bearing other H-2 haplotypes. A portion of the selected hybrids expressed Ia antigens of the normal spleen cell partner in the fusion as ...

Dual Inhibition of Mast Cells and Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin Using a Novel Bispecific Antibody, CDX‐622

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
SCF and TSLP expression are known to drive unique immune responses leading to the onset of allergic and inflammatory diseases. Here, we describe the characterization of a novel bsAb, CDX‐622, that targets SCF and TSLP. CDX‐622 inhibits MC functions through SCF starvation and Type 2 inflammatory responses via TSLP inhibition.

T cell receptor-dependent cell death of T cell hybridomas mediated by the CD30 cytoplasmic domain in association with tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1996
CD30 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily and a surface marker for Hodgkin's disease. Normal activated T cells and several virally transformed T or B cell lines also show CD30 expression.

MUSTN1 Interaction With SMPX Regulates Muscle Development and Regeneration

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Model of the role of MUSTN1 in skeletal muscle development. MUSTN1‐KO mice display delayed muscle growth and regeneration. MUSTN1 protects SMPX from instability and maintains the morphology of muscle fibres. MUSTN1 and SMPX synergistically promote myoblast proliferation and dependently facilitate differentiation.

Human hybridomas constructed with antigen-specific Epstein-Barr virus-transformed cell lines.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1982
A 6-thioguanine-resistant, human lymphoblastoid B-cell line (GM1500 6TG A-11; IgG secreting) was mutagen-treated with low-level gamma-irradiation and selected for ouabain resistance.

PCSK9 and coronary atherosclerosis progression beyond LDL‐cholesterol in coronary artery disease patients

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, EarlyView.
In a population of patients with stable CAD, circulating levels of PCSK9 are independently associated with the progression of adverse coronary plaque phenotypes, as assessed by serial coronary computed tomography angiography. At RNA‐seq analysis of whole blood, PCSK9 was linked to the expression of genes involved in the innate‐immune response.

Monoclonal Antibodies against the Drosophila Nervous System [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
A panel of 148 monoclonal antibodies directed against Drosophila neural antigens has been prepared by using mice immunized with homogenates of Drosophila tissue. Antibodies were screened immunohistochemically on cryostat sections of fly heads.

Activation-induced cell death in murine T cell hybridomas. Differential regulation of Fas (CD95) versus Fas ligand expression by cyclosporin A and FK506.

open access: yesInternational Immunology, 1996
We have previously reported that activation of murine T cell hybridomas leads to expression of Fas (CD95) and its ligand (FasL) which subsequently interact, even on the same cell, leading to apoptotic cell death.
