Polycyclic intermediates enable stereocontrolled synthesis of densely functionalized cis‐1,3‐diamine and amino alcohol carbocycles and heterocycles via structural‐to‐functional complexity transformations from low‐complexity starting material. Cis‐1,3‐functionalized carbocycles and saturated heterocycles are ubiquitous motifs in natural products ...

Microwave assisted hydroformylation without syngas
Hydroformylation is a powerful reaction that has suffered for some negative prejudices related to the use of gaseous H-2 and CO. Now it is possible to carry out hydroformylation and different cyclohydrocarbonylations, even on complex substrates, using ...

Selective Transfer Hydrogenation of Polyenes to Monoenes Catalysed by Shvo's Catalyst
We report the reduction of polyenes to monoenes with near‐perfect selectivities at full conversion with isopropanol as hydrogen source. The reaction is catalysed by Shvo's catalyst and the selectivity towards conjugation, semihydrogenation or full hydrogenation can be adjusted via the reaction temperature.

Heterogeneous asymmetric hydroformylation of olefins on chirally modified Rh/SiO2 catalysts
Heterogeneous chiral catalysts were prepared by modifying silica-supported rhodium (Rh/SiO2) with chiral phosphorus ligands. The chirally modified Rh/SiO2 catalysts exhibited high activity, regioselectivity, and enantioselectivity for the asymmetric ...

Micro–Mesoporous Ferrierite: Strategies for Tuning the Accessibility of a Peculiar Zeolite
The anisotropic structure of ferrierite (FER) zeolite makes challenging the increase of catalyst effectiveness by hierarchical porosity. The pore mouth location of the active sites for butene isomerization requires a fine balance between development of external surface and retention of shape selectivity.

Electron‐rich tris(pyridyl)borate stabilizes rare silver(I) and gold(I) carbonyl complexes. The resulting Ag–CO and Au–CO species show record‐low CO stretching frequencies, revealing enhanced metal→CO π‐backbonding. Structural and computational analyses highlight strong ligand donation, steric protection, and distinct bonding behaviors between the two ...

Hydroformylation in fluorous biphasic media
The hydroformylation of oct-1-ene is investigated under fluorous biphasic conditions, utilising the facile catalyst recovery that is provided by the temperature dependent miscibility of the perfluorinated solvent with normal organic solvents.
