Design of Dual Inhibitors of Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase and LTA4 Hydrolase

open access: yesACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2019
Multitarget anti-inflammatory drugs interfering with the arachidonic acid cascade exhibit superior efficacy. In this study, a prototype dual inhibitor of soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) and LTA4 hydrolase (LTA4H) with submicromolar activity toward both targets has been designed and synthesized.

Functional characterization and structural modeling of synthetic polyester-degrading hydrolases from Thermomonospora curvata

open access: yesAMB Express, 2014
Thermomonospora curvata is a thermophilic actinomycete phylogenetically related to Thermobifida fusca that produces extracellular hydrolases capable of degrading synthetic polyesters. Analysis of the genome of T.

Phototherapy via Modulation of β‐Amyloid in Combating Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This review introduces the light‐regulated Aβ aggregation, highlighting four applications: photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), photopharmacology, and photobiomodulation (PBM) systems. It also summarizes the current issues and proposes the prospects of photo‐induced modulation of Aβ aggregation and clearance as a therapeutic strategy

Glycoside hydrolase gene transcription by Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius during growth on wheat arabinoxylan and monosaccharides: a proposed xylan hydrolysis mechanism

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2018
Background Metabolism of carbon bound in wheat arabinoxylan (WAX) polysaccharides by bacteria requires a number of glycoside hydrolases active toward different bonds between sugars and other molecules.

Vitamin B12 Levels Association with Functional and Structural Biomarkers of Central Nervous System Injury in Older Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
At low levels of B12, specifically when bound to transcobalamin for cellular uptake, evidence of slower conductivity in the brain could point toward impaired myelin. At high levels of B12, specifically when bound to the biologically inert transport protein haptocorrin, biomarkers of neurodegeneration appear in the serum, indicating neuroaxonal injury ...

Konvergenter Aufbau Homo‐ und Heterotypischer Ubiquitinketten aus funktionaliserten, exprimierten Monomeren mittels Thiol‐En‐Chemie

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
