Simultaneous tissue profiling of eicosanoid and endocannabinoid lipid families in a rat model of osteoarthritis[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2014
We describe a novel LC method for the simultaneous and quantitative profiling of 43 oxylipins including eicosanoids, endocannabinoids, and structurally related bioactive lipids with modified acyl groups.

Steroidogenic compensation and lipid deficiency with enhanced NAD+ salvage in small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Fetal growth restriction is associated with placental metabolic adaptations. In small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta (SGA), cholesterol receptors and steroidogenic enzymes are upregulated, enhancing steroidogenesis. NAD salvage pathway is also increased to support NADP+/NADPH requirements.

Race‐based and sex‐based differences in bioactive lipid mediators after myocardial infarction

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2020
Aims Leucocyte‐directed specialized pro‐resolving mediators (SPMs) are essential for cardiac repair, and their biosynthesis coincides with the expression of pro‐inflammatory mediators; however, the precise quantitation during an acute myocardial ...

Identification of a Feed-Forward Loop Between 15(S)-HETE and PGE2 in Human Amnion at Parturition

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2022
Human parturition is associated with massive arachidonic acid (AA) mobilization in the amnion, indicating that large amounts of AA-derived eicosanoids are required for parturition. Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) synthesized from the cyclooxygenase (COX) pathway

Skin Barrier– and Immune Response–Related Biomarkers of Solar UVR Exposure Comparing Indoor and Outdoor Workers

open access: yesJID Innovations
Outdoor workers have increased risk of developing keratinocyte cancer due to accumulated skin damage resulting from chronic and excessive exposure to UVR. This study aims to identify potential noninvasive biomarkers to assess chronic UVR exposure.

Arachidonic and linoleic acid derivatives impact oocyte ICSI fertilization--a prospective analysis of follicular fluid and a matched oocyte in a 'one follicle--one retrieved oocyte--one resulting embryo' investigational setting.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
ObjectiveTo evaluate human oocyte ability to undergo fertilization and subsequent preimplantation embryonic development in relation to a wide panel of follicular fluid (FF) arachidonic acid derivatives (AAD) and linoleic acid derivatives (LAD) of ...

Dupilumab Dampens Mucosal Type 2 Response During Acetylsalicylic Acid Challenge in N‐ERD Patients

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 3, Page 227-242, March 2026.
Dupilumab therapy reduced elevated type 2 cytokine responses post‐ASA provocation in N‐ERD patients, independent of ASA tolerance, and revealed novel mechanistic insights by modulating acute type 2 immunity. Transcriptomic analysis showed concurrent downregulation of lipid and peroxisome pathways during ASA challenge in N‐ERD patients after 24 weeks of

A Role of the ABCC4 Gene Polymorphism in Airway Inflammation of Asthmatics

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2017
The ATP-binding cassette subfamily C member 4 gene encodes a transmembrane protein involved in the export of proinflammatory molecules, including leukotriene, prostaglandin, and sphingosine-1-phosphate across the plasma membrane.

Determination of major UDP-glucuronosyltransferase enzymes and their genotypes responsible for 20-HETE glucuronidation[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2014
The compound 20-HETE is involved in numerous physiological functions, including blood pressure and platelet aggregation. Glucuronidation of 20-HETE by UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) is thought to be a primary pathway of 20-HETE elimination in humans.
