Reversible modulation of liver hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase
Life Sciences, 1978Abstract The activity of rat liver microsomal hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase (HMG CoA reductase, E.C. 1.1.1.34) is severely diminished when microsomes are preincubated with both ATP and Mg 2+ before the enzyme is assayed. Sensitivity to MgATP is progressively lost when microsomes are extracted with buffers.

The Natural Products as Hydroxymethylglutaryl-Coa Reductase Inhibitors
Letters in Drug Design & Discovery, 2019High cholesterol and triglyceride levels are mainly related to further generation of lifethreating metabolism disorders including cardiovascular system diseases. Therefore, hypercholesterolemia (i.e., also referred to as hyperlipoproteinemia) is a serious disease state, which must be controlled.

Abstract Using MgATP-inactivated rat liver microsomal hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase (reductase, EC 1.1.1.34) as substrate, we detected reductase phosphatase activity in liver tissue of several vertebrates. Rodent liver reductase phosphatase is primarily cytosolic but may have some affinity for membranes.

Hydroxymethylglutaryl coA reductase (NADPH) in the latex of Hevea brasiliensis
Phytochemistry, 1982Abstract The activity of hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase (NADPH) (EC 1.1.1.34) was studied in the latex of regularly tapped mature trees of Hevea brasiliensis . The reductase activity was found mainly (95% of the total activity) in the pellet fraction (40 000 g ) of the centrifuged latex.
