Anticancer drugs based on metal complexes of 2-imine-8-hydroxyquinolines
Cancer treatment remains a public health challenge, requiring, more than ever, the development of effective and selective therapeutic drugs. Metal complexes of 8-hydroxyquinoline (8HQ) have long been recognized to exhibit significant potential in this ...

This review elucidates the molecular mechanisms of algicidal bacteria, highlighting critical behaviours like chemotaxis, quorum sensing and extracellular vesicle release. It details how these actions disrupt algal cellular integrity, photosynthesis and calcium homeostasis, providing a theoretical foundation for controlling harmful algal blooms ...

5-(4-Ethoxyphenyldiazenyl)-8-hydroxyquinoline
In the molecules of the title compound, C17H15N3O2, the ethoxyphenyl ring forms a dihedral angle of 7.37 (11)° with the quinoline ring system. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the molecules into centrosymmetric R22(10) dimers; these dimers are arranged in sheets parallel to the ab plane.

Hybridity of mainly asexually propagating duckweeds in genus Lemna – dead end or breakthrough?
Summary The cosmopolitan, mainly vegetatively propagating, organ‐reduced monocotyledonous aquatic duckweeds are the smallest and fastest growing angiosperms, distributed world‐wide and flower rarely in nature. Recently, we reported intra‐ and interspecific hybrids and ploidy variants in the genus Lemna.

The porous HMC selectively captures cationic dyes (MB and MG) from contaminated water, transforming dark, dye‐laden effluent into clean water. ABSTRACT Our investigation explores the exclusion of two health‐risk cationic dyes (e.g., Methylene Blue (MB) and Malachite Green (MG)) using a novel hydrazone‐modified cellulose (HMC) adsorbent synthesized via ...
