Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 Tat Protein Inhibits the SIRT1 Deacetylase and Induces T Cell Hyperactivation

open access: yes, 2008
SummarySymptoms of T cell hyperactivation shape the course and outcome of HIV-1 infection, but the mechanism(s) underlying this chronic immune activation are not well understood.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Palatable‐Food–Driven Top‐Down Circuit Inhibits PVNCRF Activity to Mitigate Stress Via Peri‐PVNCRFR1 Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Sperm hyperactivation and the CatSper channel: current understanding and future contribution of domestic animals

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Technology
In female tract, mammalian sperm develop hyperactivated motility which is a key physiological event for sperm to fertilize eggs. This motility change is triggered by Ca2+ influx via the sperm-specific Ca2+ channel, CatSper.

Role of reactive oxygen species on mouse sperm hyperactivation and capacitation

open access: yes, 1994
Capacitation of spermatozoa is essential for fertilization. This process is associated with a change of motility pattern of the spermatozoon called hyperactivation.

Effect of human tubal fluid medium and hyperactivation inducers on stallion sperm capacitation and hyperactivation

open access: yes, 2021
Contents Conventional in vitro fertilization has not yet been implemented in the equine species. One of the main reasons has been the inability to develop a culture medium and incubation conditions supporting high levels of stallion sperm capacitation ...

Reprogramming the Immune Landscape of Inflammatory Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inflammatory breast cancer is the most lethal subtype of breast cancer and is characterized by an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) driven by a complex network of immune cells and inflammatory cytokines, contributing to its aggressiveness and treatment challenges. Immune checkpoint inhibitors, either alone or in combination, show potential

Cell Mediated Immune System Hyperactivation and Complications in Surgery. Is There a Correlation?

open access: yes, 2010
Introduction: The role of the immune system in wound healing is multifaceted and cell-to-cell interactions may affect healing in several ways, many of which are probably still unknown.

NAT10‐Mediated ac4C Modification of circANKRD12 Reprograms the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NAT10‐dependent acetylation of circANKRD12 drives translation of the circANKRD12_354aa protein, which binds HDAC2 to stabilize c‐Myc via deubiquitination, promoting multiple myeloma (MM) cell proliferation. Concurrently, the circANKRD12‐HDAC2 axis suppresses H3ac‐mediated transcription of IFN‐γ, TNF‐α, and GZMB in NK cells, leading to NK cell ...

The Effect of Caffeine, Thimerosal and Thapsigargin on Stallion Sperm Hyperactivation

open access: yes, 2009
Ejaculated mammalian sperm become fertilization-competent after undergoing physiological changes in the female?s reproductive tract, namely capacitation and hyperactivation.
