MDR1 Hypermethylation contributes to the progression of neuroblastoma

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2007
MDR1 hypermethylation plays an important role in pathogenesis and progression of neuroblastoma tumors. This hypothesis was tested by studying the methylation status of MDR1 gene promoter in neureoblastoma biopsy specimens during the progression of tumor from stage-1 to stage-4.

Hypermethylation of HPP1 is associated with hMLH1 hypermethylation in gastric adenocarcinomas.

Cancer research, 2002
The HPP1 gene was initially discovered because of its frequent hypermethylation in hyperplastic colon polyps, but it is also hypermethylated in colorectal adenomas and carcinomas. Expression of the DNA mismatch repair gene hMLH1 is diminished or absent in some hyperplastic polyps, and it has been suggested that HPP1 inactivation is associated with the ...

Methadone Induces Hypermethylation of Human DNA

Epigenomics, 2015
Increased global DNA methylation in the blood of patients chronically exposed to opioids had been interpreted as an indication of an epigenetic action of this drug class. To strengthen the causality, human MCF7 cells were cultured in media with the addition of several known or potential modulators of DNA methylation including methadone.Following 3 days ...

[Hypermethylation and prostate cancer].

Progres en urologie : journal de l'Association francaise d'urologie et de la Societe francaise d'urologie, 2010
The diagnosis of localized prostate cancer is in constant modification. Recent studies on early diagnosis and prognosis analysis have demonstrated the limits of using PSA. The challenge for the upcoming years will be to adapt therapeutic strategies for each patient according to more reliable tests.

Hypermethylation of the p16 gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Cancer research, 1996
We have recently reported that inactivation of the p16 gene by mutation and deletion is common in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The present study demonstrates that hypermethylation of the 5' CpG island can serve as an alternative mechanism for inactivation of the p16 gene in this tumor.
