Integration of Clinical Criteria into the Training of Deep Models: Application to Glucose Prediction for Diabetic People [PDF]
Standard objective functions used during the training of neural-network-based predictive models do not consider clinical criteria, leading to models that are not necessarily clinically acceptable. In this study, we look at this problem from the perspective of the forecasting of future glucose values for diabetic people.

A novel therapeutic strategy for pancreatic neoplasia using a novel RNAi platform targeting PDX-1 [PDF]
Bi-functional shRNA (bi-shRNA), a novel RNA interference (RNAi) effector platform targeting PDX-1 utilizing a systemic DOTAP-Cholesterol delivery vehicle, was studied in three mouse models of progressive pancreatic neoplasia.

Hypoglycemia is a common adverse event affecting hospitalized patients with diabetes. This paper reviews the data regarding optimization of glucose in hospitalized patients, discusses the scope and significance of hypoglycemia in the hospital, and makes recommendations on how to reduce the risk of this serious adverse event.

Abstract Aims The aim of the study was to investigate whether differences in paracetamol pharmacokinetics (PK) between spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) patients and healthy controls (HC) could be attributed to specific clinical covariates. Methods Nonlinear mixed‐effects modelling (NONMEM 7.4) was used to develop a population PK model, explore covariates ...

This review aimed to synthesize factors associated with medication nonadherence among people with type 2 diabetes (PwT2D), using the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation and Behaviour (COM‐B) model as the a priori model. Studies published between January 2014 and April 2024 were searched on five databases.

Glycemic Variability Before And After Hypoglycemia Across Different Timeframes In Type 1 Diabetes With And Without Automated Insulin Delivery [PDF]
Managing Type 1 diabetes (T1D) aims to optimize glucose levels within the target range while minimizing hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia. Exercise presents additional challenges due to complex effects on glucose dynamics. Despite advancements in diabetes technology, significant gaps remain in understanding the relationship between exercise, glycemic ...
