Identification of IGF-1-enhanced cytokine expressions targeted by miR-181d in glioblastomas via an integrative miRNA/mRNA regulatory network analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1 signaling is relevant in regulating cell growth and cytokine secretions by glioblastomas. MicroRNAs determine the cell fate in glioblastomas. However, relationships between IGF-1 signaling and miRNAs in glioblastoma

Differential Expression of IGF Components and Insulin Receptor Isoforms in Human Seminoma Versus Normal Testicular Tissue

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2005
Insulin-like growth factors (IGF) have mitogenic and antiapoptotic functions, and may be involved in tumor growth. The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of IGF components in seminoma compared to normal testis.

A novel heterozygous IGF-1 receptor mutation associated with hypoglycemia [PDF]

open access: yesEndocrine Connections, 2017
Mutation in the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF1R) gene is a rare cause for intrauterine and postnatal growth disorders. Patients identified with IGF1R mutations present with either normal or impaired glucose tolerance. None of the cases described so far showed hypoglycemia.

IGF‐1 Deficiency Serves as an Integrated Biomarker Pathogenic Driver and Predictor in Poor Ovarian Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF‐1 deficiency underlies poor ovarian response (POR), as reduced levels in follicular fluid and granulosa cells impair antral follicle formation and compromise reproductive outcomes. Including IGF‐1 as a biomarker significantly enhances the accuracy of models predicting both PORrisk and pregnancy success.

The IGF/Insulin-IGFBP Axis in Corneal Development, Wound Healing, and Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2020
The insulin-like growth factor (IGF) family plays key roles in growth and development. In the cornea, IGF family members have been implicated in proliferation, differentiation, and migration, critical events that maintain a smooth refracting surface that

Atrophic Skeletal Muscle‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Transfer miR‐125a‐5p to Inhibit Bone Formation in Osteoporosis during Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A muscle‐bone endocrine pathway in aging is revealed in which extracellular vesicles released from atrophic skeletal muscle (Aged‐SKM‐EVs) inhibit bone formation. These EVs deliver miR‐125a‐5p to osteoblasts, thereby suppressing the SIRT7‐Sp7 signaling axis and osteogenic differentiation.

Distinct, common and synergistic effects of insulin and IGF-1 receptors on healthy murine ageing

open access: yesHeliyon
Objective: Reduced IGF-1 signalling is an evolutionarily conserved mediator of longevity, yet the magnitude of this effect is substantially larger in organisms retaining a common insulin and IGF-1 receptor.

Value of expression of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor in gastric adenocarcinomas and normal gastric tissues

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2014
Background/Aims: Insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) plays critical roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and transformation.

Determinants of IGF-II influencing stability, receptor binding and activation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Insulin like growth factor II (IGF-II) is involved in metabolic and mitogenic signalling in mammalian cells and plays important roles in normal fetal development and postnatal growth.

GALNT10 Affects O‐Glycosylation of IGFBP7 to Promote Tumor Vascular Remodeling and Metastasis of Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The glycosyltransferase GALNT10 facilitates ovarian cancer metastasis through the induction of tumor cell EMT and tumor vascular dysfunction. GALNT10 enhanced the extracellular secretion of IGFBP7 through O‐GalNAc glycosylation modification at the T188 site, which subsequently interacts with CD93 on endothelial cells, leading to vascular remodeling ...
