A critical role for IGF-II in memory consolidation and enhancement
We report that, in the rat, administering insulin-like growth factor II (IGF-II, also known as IGF2) significantly enhances memory retention and prevents forgetting.

Assessing the role of insulin-like growth factors and binding proteins in prostate cancer using Mendelian randomization:genetic variants as instruments for circulating levels [PDF]
Circulating insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and their binding proteins (IGFBPs) are associated with prostate cancer. Using genetic variants as instruments for IGF peptides, we investigated whether these associations are likely to be causal.

Characterization of IGF-II isoforms in binge eating disorder and its group psychological treatment. [PDF]
Binge eating disorder (BED) affects 3.5% of the population and is characterized by binge eating for at least 2 days a week for 6 months. Treatment options include cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy which are ...

Cumulative mutagenesis of the basic residues in the 201-218 region of insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-binding protein-5 results in progressive loss of both IGF-I binding and inhibition of IGF-I biological action [PDF]
We have reported previously that mutation of two conserved nonbasic amino acids (G203 and Q209) within the highly basic 201–218 region in the C-terminal domain of IGF-binding protein-5 (IGFBP-5) decreases binding to IGFs.

Lectin-induced alterations of the interaction of insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptors with their ligands [PDF]
In order to study whether the carbohydrate moieties of the human placental IGF-I receptor (IGF1R), IGF-II receptor (IGF2R) and insulin receptors (IRs) play a role in ligand binding, solubilised cell membrane preparations were incubated with 125I-labelled

IGF-II Producing Hepatic Fibrosarcoma Associated with Hypoglycemia.
A 67-year-old male was admitted with the complaint of weakness at hunger early in the morning, when blood glucose was less than 40 mg/dl. The abdominal ultrasonogram and computerized tomogram demonstrated a huge tumor in the right liver lobe. Hypoglycemia disappeared after transcatheter arterial embolization. Then hepatic lobectomy was performed.
