Non-linear oscillatory rheological properties of a generic continuum foam model: comparison with experiments and shear-banding predictions [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal E 35 (2012) 51, 2010
The occurence of shear bands in a complex fluid is generally understood as resulting from a structural evolution of the material under shear, which leads (from a theoretical perspective) to a non-monotonic stationnary flow curve related to the coexistence of different states of the material under shear.

Structures and functions of cilia during vertebrate embryo development

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 89, Issue 12, Page 579-596, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Cilia are hair‐like structures that project from the surface of cells. In vertebrates, most cells have an immotile primary cilium that mediates cell signaling, and some specialized cells assemble one or multiple cilia that are motile and beat synchronously to move fluids in one direction.

CO2‐Based Fischer‐Tropsch Synthesis Toward Aviation Fuel Components Using a Na‐Promoted Fe Catalyst

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A Na‐promoted Fe catalyst was investigated to produce liquid hydrocarbons using CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis. As a result of a systematic variation of operation parameters, 49 wt % of the organic liquid was promising as sustainable aviation fuel. Abstract The CO2‐based Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis toward liquid hydrocarbons was investigated using a

Investigation and elimination of nonlinear Poisson stiffening in 3d and solid shell finite elements

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 124, Issue 1, Page 235-263, 15 January 2023., 2023
Abstract We show that most geometrically nonlinear three‐dimensional shell elements and solid shell elements suffer from a previously unknown artificial stiffening effect that only appears in geometrically nonlinear problems, in particular in the presence of large bending deformations.

Methodology of high‐dimensional flow cytometry in monitoring immune microenvironment of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors

open access: yesCytometry Part B: Clinical Cytometry, EarlyView.
Abstract Characterization of the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) is crucial for understanding the behavior of different types of PitNETs and identification of possible causes of their aggressiveness, rapid growth, and resistance to therapy.
