IL-1β maturation is induced in TCM-treated BMDMs via caspase-1 activation.
(A-D) BMDMs were incubated with DMEM or 25% TCM for 4, 8, and 12 h. (A) Western blots for NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, and IL-1β were performed. β-actin was used as the loading control. (B) Secreted IL-1β levels in the supernatants were determined by ELISA. (C)

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Interleukin-1β depresses neuronal activity in the rat olfactory bulb even during odor stimulation.
The olfactory system is exposed to external and internal harmful agents that may impair the communication between the olfactory sensory neurons and olfactory brain areas.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

IL-1β-induced ERK1/2 phosphorylation and its inhibition by an ERK1/2 inhibitor.
In dermal fibroblasts treated with 100 pM IL-1β for 0–60 min, ERK1/2 phosphorylation (p-ERK1/2) was observed in a time-dependent manner (a, b). IL-1β had no effect on total ERK1/2 (t-ERK1/2) expression (a).

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Olaparib attenuates the oxLDL-mediated increase in pro-IL-1β and pro-IL-18 protein expression.
THP-1 monocytes were exposed to oxLDL, the PARP inhibitor olaparib (Olapa), or the NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950 (MCC), individually or in combination as indicated. Cell lysates were subjected to SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-pro-IL-1β (top), anti-pro-IL-
