Abstract The nucleotide sequences of IL-11 cDNAs cloned from mouse and man (mouse sequence submitted to GenBank, human sequence GenBank accession number M37006) encode proteins with 199 amino acids (Fig. 1) (Paul eta/. 1990). At the amino acid level, the mouse and human proteins are highly conserved (88 per cent identity).
