Imidazole–imidazole stacking in some inorganic complexes

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 2009
Abstract Reaction of CuCl2 · 2H2O with the 1:1 condensate (L) of 2-(2-aminoethyl)pyridine and 1-methyl-2-imidazolecarboxaldehyde in methanol yields monomeric CuLCl2.H2O (1). Recrystallisation of 1 from aqueous methanol medium containing excess of PF 6 − affords the 1D coordination polymer [CuLCl]n(PF6)n (2).

Imidazole anticonvulsants: structure-activity relationships of [(biphenylyloxy)alkyl]imidazoles

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1987
The [(biphenylyloxy)alkyl]imidazoles were found to be potent anticonvulsants. The most potent compound of the series, 1-[2- ([1,1'-biphenyl]-2-yloxy)ethyl]-1H-imidazole (4), had an ED50 of 15.5 mg/kg against maximal-electroshock-induced seizures in mice after oral administration; the horizontal screen ED50 was 320 mg/kg, revealing that the compound has

Prebiotic synthesis of imidazole-4-acetaldehyde, imidazole-4-glycol and imidazole-4-ethanol

Origins of life and evolution of the biosphere, 1986
A wide var iety of chemical processes have been used for the synthesis of amino acids from prebiot ic molecular precursors under plausible pr imi t ive Earth conditions (M i l l e r , 1982). The prebiot ic formation of a l l protein-type amino acids has been demonstrated except for three amino acids: h is t id ine , lys ine, and arginine (Weber and Mi ...

Involvement of imidazole-imidazole and imidazole-sulfhydryl interactions in photodynamic crosslinking of proteins

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1984
Abstract Myoglobin is photooxidized when exposed to visible light in the presence of a sensitizer. In 8 M urea medium this photooxidation is followed by photodynamic interpeptide crosslinking. A partial inhibition of crosslinking is caused by lysine, mercaptoethanol and hydroxylamine, and by amidination of NH2 groups in the protein molecule. Complete

Anellierte Imidazole

Computational study of imidazole and methyl imidazoles

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1994
Abstract A semiempirical and ab initio study of the structures of imidazole, methyl imidazoles and the corresponding protonated and deprotonated ions is presented. The energies of the different isomers and tautomers are discussed and the protonation and deprotonation energies are given.
