Evolution and expression of the highly variable cell adhesion molecule Dscam in the crustacean Daphnia and other arthropods [PDF]
The Down syndrome cell adhesion molecule (Dscam) family, is within the cell adhesion molecules, a family whose members are characterized by being composed of immunoglobulin (Ig) and fibronectin domains and which are known to play an essential role in ...

Background All jawed-vertebrates have four T cell receptor (TCR) chains: alpha (TRA), beta (TRB), gamma (TRG) and delta (TRD). Marsupials appear unique by having an additional TCR: mu (TRM).

ABSTRACT Background SOX1 antibody‐positive paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) exhibit significant population‐specific clinical heterogeneity. While Western cohorts predominantly manifest Lambert‐Eaton myasthenic syndrome (65%–80%), comprehensive clinical characterization and treatment response data in Asian populations remain critically ...

An experimental approach to enumerate the genes coding for immunoglobulin variable-regions
Critical to our understanding of the immune system diversity is the determination of the number of germ line V genes. The total number of V genes is given by the product: number of subgroups x number of germ line genes per subgroup. Studies of kappa chains and of embryonic DNA indicate 5-10 V genes per subgroup.

FDG‐PET Associations With Disease Severity and Outcomes in NMDA‐Receptor IgG Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Background Patients with N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate (NMDA) receptor‐immunoglobulin G (IgG) autoimmune encephalitis (NMDAR‐IgG AE) demonstrate occipital lobe hypometabolism on baseline brain fluorodeoxyglucose‐positron emission tomography (bFDG‐PET).

SAIVGeM: spreadsheet analysis of immunoglobulin VH gene mutations
The analysis of mutations in immunoglobulin heavy chain variable (IGHV) region genes is a tedious process when performed by hand on multiple sequences. This report describes a set of linked Microsoft® Excel® files that perform several common analyses on ...

[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...

Somatic hypermutation (SHM) requires selective targeting of the mutational machinery to the variable region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene. The induction of SHM in the BL2 cell line upon costimulation is associated with hyperacetylation of the ...

A Genetic Marker in the Variable Region of Light Chains of Mouse Immunoglobulins
A genetic variation was observed upon autoradiographic comparison of tryptic peptide maps of 14 C-labeled normal light chains from 17 different inbred strains of mice. The difference was found in strains AKR/J, C58/J, and RF/J. Chemical analyses showed that the differences were in a region of the amino acid sequence

Evolution of immunoglobulin kappa chain variable region genes in vertebrates [PDF]
The major source of immunoglobulin diversity is variation in DNA sequence among multiple copies of variable region (V) genes of the heavy- and light-chain multigene families. In order to clarify the evolutionary pattern of the multigene family of immunoglobulin light kappa chain V region (V kappa) genes, phylogenetic analyses of V kappa genes from ...
