Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

In vitro simulated study of macronutrient digestion in complex food using digestive enzyme supplement

open access: yesHeliyon
Digestive enzymes secreted by the body are vital for digestion and nutrient absorption. Enzyme supplements are commonly used to support them in achieving optimal digestion. Herein, the efficacy of digestive enzyme supplement (DigeSEB Super) in digestion of complex food was assessed using INFOGEST simulated static and modified semi-dynamic in vitro ...

Enhanced Endoscopic Internal Drainage of Gastric Abscess Through Additively Manufactured Stents

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Postoperative gastric leaks are often treated with off‐label biliary double‐pigtail stents, yet conventional extruded designs are not optimized for leak anatomy, can migrate, and may limit abscess evacuation. PETALS is introduced to optimize transmural drainage geometry and enable patient‐specific 3D‐printable stents.

Hydrogen magnetic reaction gene regulation

open access: yes, 2012
A new gene regulation system using weak magnetic field can induce the hydrogen magnetic reaction (HMR) in hydrogen atoms, and subsequently affect the electrostatic polarity of hydrogen bonds in DNA base pairs.

CORE: Cholesterol Altered Lipid Nanoparticles for Splenic Expression of mRNA Payloads

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this paper researchers introduce CORE LNPs, a new class of lipid nanoparticles engineered to redirect mRNA expression away from the liver and into the spleen, a key immune organ. By combining chemical design with computational tools, they created cholesterol analogs that enable precise spleen‐targeted expression, providing greater applications for ...

Respiratory Organ‐on‐a‐Chip for Disease Modeling: From Architecture to Functional Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Respiratory organ‐on‐a‐chip (ROC) models capture key mechanical and cellular cues of the human respiratory system, enabling quantitative dissection of disease mechanisms. This review links ROC architectures to disease modeling, functional integration, and commercialization, and proposes a decision framework that aligns model complexity with mechanistic

Study on preparation, physicochemical properties and in vitro digestion of casein sol/gel induced by citric acid and heat

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
Casein (CS) gels, valued for their functional properties, are widely utilized in food applications. In this study, CS sol/gels were prepared by citric acid and heat (85 °C) induction at varying pH values and protein concentrations, and their ...

Cellulase digestion technique compared with the in vitro digestibility of forages

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1976
A red clover-grass mixture and a couch grass (E. repens) pure stand were studied at eighteen different stages of maturity in Viikki. The analytical techniques were a cellulase digestion method and a two stage in vitro digestion technique. A high correlation (r = .99*** for both types of stand and residual standard deviations (RSD) of 0.9 and 1.3 ...

Nature of {varphi}X174 Linear DNA from a DNA Ligase-Defective Host [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Linear DNAs have been prepared from {varphi}X phage and from {varphi}X RF II (double-stranded circular form of {varphi}X DNA, formed during infection and nicked in one or both strands) molecules derived from infection at the restrictive temperature of ...

Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.
