Conditioning murine B cells for immunoglobulin A production In vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The respiratory mucosa is continuously exposed to a myriad of pathogens and allergens that are inhaled during respiration. B cells of the immune system produce immunoglobulin A (IgA) that protects the respiratory mucosa from inhaled pathogens and ...

Influence of N-acetyl-L-cysteine against bisphenol a on the maturation of mouse oocytes and embryo development: in vitro study

open access: yesBMC Pharmacology and Toxicology, 2019
Background Bisphenol A (BPA), an endocrine disruptor, is a widely used chemical that has adverse effects on animal development and reproduction. The current research aimed to evaluate the effect of BPA on the in vitro maturation (IVM) and subsequent ...

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

Effect of insulin-like growth factor-1 during in vitro oocyte maturation and in vitro culture of bovine embryos

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2001
The effects of insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) on in vitro maturation (IVM) (experiment I) and on in vitro embryo development (experiment II) of bovine oocytes fertilized in vitro, were evaluated in terms of cleavage (CR), blastocyst (BR) and ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

The Influence of the Culture Medium on In Vitro Meiotic Competence of Canine Oocytes

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Although in carnivores modern breeding biotechnologies have developed particularly over the last 15 years, studies in the bitch oocytes are less than in other species due to the reduced availability of biological material.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Interleukin-6 supplementation during in vitro maturation improves developmental competence of in vitro fertilized porcine oocytes [PDF]

open access: yes
Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a cytokine physiologically expressed within the reproductive tract, where it plays a crucial role in cellular communication and processes such as ovulation and implantation.

In vitro fertilization is associated with placental accelerated villous maturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Accelerated placental maturation is regarded as a sign of vascular malperfusion and is often interpreted as a compensatory response by the placenta. In vitro embryo culture affects placental development.
