Control of gonad growth, maturation and spawning in teleost fish: A review [PDF]
Despite their great variety of reproductive strategies, a general characteristic of most teleosts is that (where known) natural reproduction shows a long-term periodicity, even in tropical habitats (e.g. see contributions in Munro et al.

Effects of lanosterol on in vitro maturation of porcine oocytes [PDF]
[EN] FF-MAS and T-MAS sterols, intermediaries in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway present in all cells, may represent the physiological signal that instructs the crocyte to reinitiate meiosis.

Cortisol prevents the suppressive effect of LPS on bovine oocyte maturation in vitro
During the periovulatory period, local production of cortisol surges in the bovine cumulus-oocyte complex (COC), although its physiological significance is not well understood.

Biphasic in-vitro maturation: an advancement over traditional in-vitro maturation
Culture conditions for standard in-vitro maturation (IVM) have remained largely unchanged for more than 50 years and are non-physiological, limiting the success of this form of assisted reproductive technology (ART).

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

En el experimento I (EXP I),

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Determination of non-invasive viability markers for human embryos in in vitro fertilization. [PDF]
The major challenge currently facing human in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs is the prevention of multiple gestation pregnancies. The replacement of multiple embryos to fertility patients is common practice to increase pregnancy rates.
