In vitro techniques of bovine oocyte maturation, fertilization and embryo culture resulting in the birth of a calf [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction Nutrition Développement, 1989
Oocyte cumulus complexes were aspirated from 3 to 5 mm follicles of cows prestimulated with 2.000 IU PMSG 24 h before slaughter. Oocytes matured in culture were fertilized in vitro by heparinized freshly ejaculated or epididymal spermatozoa. The cultivation procedure for fertilized eggs was the same as that used for cultivation of oocytes.

Vitrification of human immature oocytes before and after in vitro maturation: a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The use of immature oocytes subjected to in vitro maturation (IVM) opens interesting perspectives for fertility preservation where ovarian reserves are damaged by pathologies or therapies, as in PCO/PCOS and cancer patients. Human oocyte cryopreservation

Effect of preantral follicle isolation technique on in-vitro follicular growth, oocyte maturation and embryo development in mice [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 2002
The use of mechanical and enzymatic techniques to isolate preantral follicles before in-vitro culture has been previously described. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the isolation procedure of mouse preantral follicles on their subsequent development in vitro.Follicles were isolated either mechanically or enzymatically and cultured ...

Supplementation with small-extracellular vesicles from ovarian follicular fluid during in vitro production modulates bovine embryo development. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Pregnancy success results from the interaction of multiple factors, among them are folliculogenesis and early embryonic development. Failure during these different processes can lead to difficulties in conception.

The effect of C–C motif chemokine ligand 2 supplementation on in vitro maturation of porcine cumulus-oocyte complexes and subsequent developmental competence after parthenogenetic activation

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2023
Porcine embryos are used for a variety of applications. However, the maturation rate in vitro remains low, and novel in vitro maturation (IVM) techniques that facilitate the collection of mature oocytes are necessary.

Effect of In Vitro Maturation Technique and Alpha Lipoic Acid Supplementation on Oocyte Maturation Rate: Focus on Oxidative Status of Oocytes.

open access: yesInternational journal of fertility & sterility, 2016
Therapeutic potential of in vitro maturation (IVM) in infertility is growing with great promise. Although significant progress is obtained in recent years, existing IVM protocols are far from favorable results. The first aim of this study was to investigate whether two step IVM manner change reactive oxygen species (ROS) and total anti- oxidant ...

Current Relevant Knowledge on Dog Reproductive Physiology – a Review

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Successful in vitro techniques depend on the possibility to mimic in vivo conditions. For this reason, knowledge on reproductive physiology is necessary to define an efficient entirely in vitro system to produce embryos.

Human embryos from overweight and obese women display phenotypic and metabolic abnormalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
STUDY QUESTION Is the developmental timing and metabolic regulation disrupted in embryos from overweight or obese women? SUMMARY ANSWER Oocytes from overweight or obese women are smaller than those from women of healthy weight, yet post-fertilization ...
