Navigation Information Fusion in a Redundant Marine Rotational Inertial Navigation System Configuration

Journal of Navigation, 2018
A Rotational Inertial Navigation System (RINS) redundant configuration is commonly adopted in high-accuracy marine navigation. Single-axis RINS and dual-axis RINS redundant configurations are good choices with single-axis RINS being a hot backup system, and are trade-offs between position accuracy, reliability as well as cost.

Achieving high navigation accuracy using inertial navigation systems in autonomous underwater vehicles

OCEANS 2011 IEEE - Spain, 2011
This paper presents a summary of the current state-of-the-art in INS-based navigation systems in AUVs manufactured by Bluefin Robotics Corporation. A detailed description of the successful integrations of the Kearfott T-24 Ring Laser Gyro and the IXSEA PHINS III Fiber Optic Gyro into recent Bluefin Robotics AUVs is presented.

Prediction of inertial navigation system error dynamics in INS/GPS system

2013 IEEE 2nd International Conference Actual Problems of Unmanned Air Vehicles Developments Proceedings (APUAVD), 2013
This paper discusses methods of improving precision characteristics of an inertial navigation system in integrated Inertial Navigation System / Global Positioning System by prediction of evolution of inertial navigation system errors. The results of mathematical modeling, which confirm the feasibility of this approach for improving accuracy of inertial

Decentralized sliding mode control in inertial navigation systems

Proceedings of 1995 American Control Conference - ACC'95, 2005
The decentralized de-coupling sliding mode control strategy has been developed and applied for the design of the stabilization system of the three-axis inertial platform. The local nonlinear conventional and dynamic sliding manifolds have been designed to provide the desired linear decoupled output tracking (stabilization) in each axis of the inertial ...

Secure communication and signal processing in inertial navigation systems

2017 IEEE 37th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO), 2017
This paper focuses on secure communication, data-analytic signal processing and robust algorithms for inertial navigation systems (INSs). Middleware, software, data processing and algorithms are studied. We examine and report high-impact technology developments as applied to current and next generations of INSs.

In-Motion Alignment Algorithm of Strapdown Inertial Navigation Systems

2018 DGON Inertial Sensors and Systems (ISS), 2018
Strapdown Inertial Navigation Systems (SINS) estimate position, velocity and angular orientation upon signals acquired by inertial sensors– accelerometers and gyroscopes - stiffly fixed on a vehicle. A SINS begins operating by the initialization process which provides initial position, velocity and alignment.

Adaptive unscented Kalman filter in Inertial Navigation System alignment

2011 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing, 2011
An adaptive unscented Kalman filter is presented, in this algorithm, modified Sage-Husa noise statistics estimator is introduced to estimate the process noise variances adaptively. The nonlinear filter is applied in INS alignment with large azimuth error. Simulation results show that adaptive Unscented Kalman filter performance well in the special case.
