Solubilization of rat liver inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor

Cellular Signalling, 1991
High affinity Ins(1,4,5)P3-binding sites of permeabilized hepatocytes are probably the ligand recognition sites of the receptors that mediate the effects of Ins(1,4,5)P3 on intracellular Ca2+ mobilization. We have now solubilized these sites from rat liver membranes in the zwitterionic detergent, CHAPS, and shown that the solubilized sites bind Ins(1,4,

The nuclear inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate and inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate receptors

Cell Calcium, 1994
IP3R is located to the inner nuclear membrane. Nuclear IP3R is recognized as a 220 kD immunoreactive protein by antisera raised against purified rat brain IP3R. Antisera against C-terminal 95-108 peptide fragment derived from rat brain IP3R does not reveal immunoreactivity in the nucleus.

Modulation of the Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphate Receptor by Inositol Phosphates

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 1996
Abstract The mode of recognition at the binding site of the Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptor was assessed by examining the structure-activity relationships of different Ca2+-mobilizing inositol phosphates.

The inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor: kinetic properties and regulation

Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 1994
Inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (InsP3) is a second messenger responsible for the mobilization of intracellular Ca2+ after receptor-mediated hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. InsP3 binds to a specific receptor located on the membrane of an intracellular compartment and opens a Ca2+ channel causing the cytosolic Ca2+ concentration to ...

Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor function in neonatal cardiomyocytes

European Journal of Pharmacology: Molecular Pharmacology, 1994
We have previously reported that the metabolism of inositol(1,4,5)trisphosphate (Ins(1,4,5)P3) is altered when rat neonatal ventricular cardiomyocytes are isolated and cultured. In the current study we show that the mass content of Ins(1,4,5)P3 is lower in the isolated cells than in the intact tissue.

Regulation of the Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphate Receptor by Tyrosine Phosphorylation

Science, 1996
Tyrosine kinases indirectly raise intracellular calcium concentration ([Ca 2+ ] i ) by activating phospholipases that generate inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP 3 ). IP 3 activates the IP 3 receptor (IP 3

The role of calmodulin for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor function

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2002
Intracellular calcium release is a fundamental signaling mechanism in all eukaryotic cells. The ryanodine receptor (RyR) and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP(3)R) are intracellular calcium release channels. Both channels can be regulated by calcium and calmodulin (CaM).
