Investigation of insulin-like growth factors/insulin-like growth factor binding proteins regulation in metabolic syndrome patients [PDF]
Objective The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and their binding proteins (IGFBPs) are thought to play a significant role in metabolic pathways and glucose metabolism.

Insulin-like growth factors and insulin-like growth factor binding proteins in mammary gland function [PDF]
Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-mediated proliferation and survival are essential for normal development in the mammary gland during puberty and pregnancy. IGFs interact with IGF-binding proteins and regulate their function. The present review focuses on the role of IGFs and IGF-binding proteins in the mammary gland and describes how modulation of ...

Effectiveness of low-fat diet on the levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 and insulin-like growth factor binding proteins: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials [PDF]
Background Previous researches on the effect of low-fat diet (LF) on insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), and its binding proteins (IGFBPs) did not reach a consensus result, and there is no study summarizing these findings.

Fasting Induces Gene Expression of Insulin-like Growth Factor-binding Proteins in Skeletal Muscles of Chicks [PDF]
In mammals, evidence suggests that insulin-like growth factor-binding proteins (IGFBPs) affect skeletal muscle growth in an autocrine and paracrine manner.

The Role of Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Proteins
Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are fundamental cell regulators with an evolutionary conserved role synchronising tissue growth, development and function according to metabolic conditions. Although structurally very similar to insulin, the IGFs act in a very different way as cell regulators. Whereas insulin is stored in a specific gland and released

Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Proteins and IGFBP Proteases: A Dynamic System Regulating the Ovarian Folliculogenesis [PDF]
The aim of the present article is to update our understanding of the expression of the insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBPs), IGFBP proteases and their implication in the different processes of ovarian folliculogenesis in mammals.

Transferrin binds insulin‐like growth factors and affects binding properties of insulin‐like growth factor binding protein‐3 [PDF]
In the circulation, most of the insulin‐like growth factors (IGFs) are bound to a ternary 150 kDa complex with IGF‐binding protein (IGFBP)‐3 and the acid labile subunit. In the current study, we identify transferrin (Tf) by mass spectrometry, and immunoprecipitation as a component of a major IGF‐binding fraction separated from human plasma.
