Multiple low dose streptozotocin‐induced diabetes is a valuable animal model of diabetes type 1. It should be improved by further research on autoantigens, microbiota and mucosal immune cells from the gut, but also from other organs. Abstract The autoimmune response directed against pancreatic β cells is the most essential pathogenic process in type 1 ...

Authors present the history of a 56-year-old man who was evaluated for recurrent epigastrial pain. Clinical investigation revealed a 4-cm tumor in the head of the pancreas and a solitary liver metastasis. Pathological examination of the surgically excised pancreatic tumor indicated a moderately differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma and Ki-67 ...

NSAIDS AS MODULATORS OF CATION CHANNELS: FENAMATES REPURPOSING IN CHANNELOPATHIES
Cationic ion channels are transmembrane proteins that regulate the flux of cations (potassium, sodium, and calcium) across cell membrane, playing a pivotal role in many cellular functions. Disruptions of their activity can lead to the so‐called genetic or acquired channelopathies, a heterogeneous group of diseases that affect multiple human systems ...

Insulinoma with focal hepatic lesions: malignant insulinoma? [PDF]
Insulinoma is a rare tumour that is malignant in only 10% of cases. We report a case of insulinoma in a 59-year-old woman, associated with focal liver lesions, which raised the suspicion of malignancy of a pancreatic tumour. Enucleation of the insulinoma was performed with wedge resection of one hepatic nodule.

Hyams Grade and Ki‐67 as Predictive Factors for Primary Treatment Failure in Olfactory Neuroblastoma
The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of various prognostic parameters on the occurrence of primary tumor progression and/or tumor recurrence (TPR) in esthesioneuroblastoma after primary curative therapy in a single center. Time to first TPR in esthesioneuroblastoma was significantly shorter in cases with a younger age and ...

ABSTRACT The percomorph fish clade Gobioidei is a suborder that comprises over 2200 species distributed in nearly all aquatic habitats. To understand the genetics underlying their species diversification, we sequenced and annotated the genome of the loach goby, Rhyacichthys aspro, an early‐diverging group, and compared it with nine additional Gobioidei
