Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A novel robust interacting multiple model filter for manoeuvering target tracking

open access: yesElectronics Letters
A robust interacting multiple model approach is proposed to address the problem of accuracy and non‐Gaussian measurement noise in manoeuvering target tracking. The proposed approach introduces multiple fading factors into the prediction covariance matrix

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

A Dual Forgetting Factor-Based Adaptive IMM-UKF Algorithm for Vehicle Tracking

open access: yesIEEE Access
In response to the limitations of the traditional Interacting Multiple Model Unscented Kalman Filter (IMM-UKF) in high-noise environments—particularly its insufficient tracking accuracy and poor adaptability of the noise covariance matrices—

Multi-Fault Diagnosis Approach Based on Updated Interacting Multiple Model for Aviation Hydraulic Actuator

open access: yesInformation, 2020
The aviation hydraulic actuator (HA) is a key component of the flight control system in an aircraft. It is necessary to consider the occurrence of multiple faults under harsh conditions during a flight.

Phase structure of the two-fluid proton-neutron system

open access: yes, 2004
The phase structure of a two-fluid bosonic system is investigated. The proton-neutron interacting boson model (IBM-2) posesses a rich phase structure involving three control parameters and multiple order parameters.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

An Adaptive IMM Algorithm for a PD Radar with Improved Maneuvering Target Tracking Performance

open access: yesRemote Sensing
A pulse-Doppler (PD) radar has the advantage of strong anti-interference ability, and it is often used as a solution for maneuvering target tracking.
